If you have not seen yet There is an option to buy just the body tube on the site now. This is so people can change bodies when they want a new color with out having to buy a whole new unit....3.6v to 6v..you get the idea.

Yes that is cool Jay, and this seems like a good time to ask -- will the GLV2 tube (and/or caps) fit the GLV1 also? If so, someday I just may get my red GLV after all! Dress 'er up for special occasions, maybe even leave my set of green anodized caps on sometimes instead of the polished aluminum ones, and get funkeee! :D Or maybe not. :p

Hey jay I had asked the other day about getting my glv with no powder coating just wondering about when it would be shipping out my way. Thanks Nick

The way I understood it is that skipping the powder coating stands to save only one day but even that point hasn't been reached yet, that yours might ship a day sooner than the rest when the time comes in a week and a half or so. Jay orders batch runs once enough orders have come in, and he just placed the order this week for the initial machining stages to begin on the batch he's been taking pre-orders for. (Or if it's a GLV1 you ordered instead of GLV2, not sure if that would be different.)

well yes but you could take the head off the mini if you wanted to and use it on the glv2 tube and use at 6v.

heres the deal.

there are just 2 tube sizes.

mini tube holds just 1 battery.. 16340

reg tube holds 2 batteries- 2 - 16340's

there are 2 heads.

1 head has a resistor in it which gives you 5v.

the other head has no resistor which can allow 3,7 or 6v.

so these heads are all interchangeable because the tube size diameters are the same size. just the lengths are different.

hope this helps..

Indeed,, it sound to me like.. im making it expensive on my self by specifically wanting 5v... judging by what youve said.. the economical thing to do would be to buy a GLV Mini Kit and a seperate full size tube.. then i would have the ability to vape at 3.7v and 6v...

THEN.. if i wanted 5v.. i could buy the GLV 2 head/end caps.. and at that point i would have the full vape range...

i guess the question then becomes..how different is 5v from 6v.. is it really worth the extra money to specifically have 5v... or should i just go with the GLV Mini and a seperate full sized tube..?

I really couldn't answer whether 5 or 6v is preferable for you but to me there is a BIG difference. 6v is way too hot for me..
3.7 and 5v are perfect for me..

I think others will chime in and let you know their feelings..

Yes, I think if you mix and match you can save..

I personally like 3.7 more with a LR atty 510 or a reg 510 atty.
The vape is cooler and that's what I like,,

I did 6v for months and just grew tired of it and then went back to 5v and used cartomizers and 801 attys on My GLVs.

So I change it up from time to time,,

I have learned to never say I vape only 1 way because before I know it I like something else.. lol

Good luck. You wont go wrong with a GLV set up.. A Wise investment. imo

PS> You would be wise to get the Mini because they are going to be hot when people start realizing what a treasure they will be....

If you dont like them put them in the classifieds, They selll like hotcakes,, You don't ever see any in there for a REASON....

To me there was a huge diff between 5 and 6V. I liked regular cartos at 6V but that was it, all atty types tasted way harsh and burnt to me, whereas everything across the board is yummy at 5V. Again tho, that was months ago and I haven't revisited or wanted to revisit 6V since. But as doots said, very subjective as plenty of ppl do like 6V... and some even like 7+V!:shock: (Hi OmahaVapor! :))

There are high resistance atties too, for example Nhaler has two that are supposed to knock off the equivalent of 1 and 2V respectively. Haven't followed those, don't know how they're working out for folks these days. And if they still cost considerably more than regular atties, wouldn't end up saving $$.

LOL you guys make me smile. I am going to the etcher tomorrow and to drop off samples and to ask about the # thing. That is awesome Jay. I will have to get a mini body now and more colors of the full body. On your site it says there is a resistor installed for 3.7V head cap. Would I use my 5V or 6V head cap for the mini? Hi Mia:)

I think what it is is that the resistor is only installed on the 3.7V full-sized body version (not the 3.7V mini). And the main reason that one exists is that originally, Jay planned to discontinue the mini and keep the body size uniform across all of them. So! My guess is that if you get a mini body, you would just use it with your 6V head cap -- which is only 'made' 6V by using two batts (3V) instead of the single (3.7V) one you'd use in the mini.

the mini is not capable of anything more than 3.7 since it is a one battery tube. Plus you would need to use the 3.7/6v head

for 5 or 6v you would need the reg tube and either the 5v head or the 6v head.
5v head w/resistor or for the 6v the 3.7/6v head and 2 batteries in the tube for each

Not sure what it sounded like I was saying but it wasn't meant to be different than that lol! I think what may have complicated matters to Omaha is the existence of that strange beast, the full-sized 3.7V GLV with resistor installed (created before Jay decided to continue/return to offering a compact mini version again for 3.7V).

I was just putting it in a different way as it is very confusing to someone that doesn't know the GLV.s

You will need your 6v (no resistor) head cap for the mini. The 3.6v and the mini are 2 different units. The 3.6v head cap goes with the long body and uses 2 batteries resisted down to 3.6v so it will not work on the mini.
