What resistance heads are you running and what voltage levels

Usually the "metal" taste is due to heating the coils too much...aka too low a resistance or too high a voltage (aka TOO high watts for those very thin wires)

I have a vivi nova mini and it vapes AWESOME at 6-7 watts all day long! I get the "hot metal" taste from my USB bypass running 5vdc in a 2.8Ω head, if I put it on my Vamo at the above watts is runs awesome without that metal flavor

i use an AC9 everyday it has an airy draw but after almost a year it dont feel airy now , did the cigs that you smoked have a hard draw? as for the protank v1 i can see how some people dont like the metal but the protank v2 you can change tips . the vivi nova i love but only when i make my own coils , if you get into rba stuff since you got to get wire/mesh/or cotton you can play with what you got b4 buying an rba believe me when you buy a roll of wire and mesh or cotton you wont have to buy any of that stuff again for 2-3 years maybe longer ive been at it for a year now making mine and my girlfriends and i havent made a dent in my supplies

Have 2 protanks and a protank mini, and they vape just fine, I just HATE the metal in my mouth, and the airy draw. Can anyone suggest a good system to get? I'm KINDA looking at RBA's but not sure on what to get. I also kinda wanna try a Vivi Nova, any insights?

The new ProTank 2 and the ProTank 2 mini come with removable drip tips so you can substitute your own, non-metal tips!

And the draw has been tightened considerably on both models.

Just sayin. :D

The VIVI is a great device. Insure that you select a Vision Vivi nova.
Being a top coil, it will be a warmer vape.
The heads on the VIVIs and the BCCs you have are all rebuildable.. If you want to start "playing".

On the BCC side, an Evod with a plastic MP might be more comfortable for you and allows you to use the same/ similar heads you are using now.

Welcome and have fun

Judging only by your post count, I'm guessing you are a relatively new vapor. Before buying an RBA, have you really looked into what all is involved with using an RBA? These are more advanced delivery devices that are not plug & play. Please read this Advice and Tips for Vapors Looking to Try Their First RBA before purchasing one and be sure you are ready for this step.

The Vision Vivi Nova, Kanger Evod, and Innokin iClear clearomizers all use a plastic mouthpiece.

I have a few Pro-tanks and 2 Pro-tank 2s. After learning to rebuild the coils on them with 30g. Kanthal 3/4 wrap and doubled-up 2mm. Ekowool it really made a difference in the overall taste, stopped the gurgles, and made it a bit less airy. I have since moved on to an IGO-W and an AGA-T2 and I just can't put them down! I still use my Pro-tanks as a backup or for different flavor choices, but I now favor the rebuildables more. Just my opinion, although the Pro-tanks are great!

I use a kanger t3s; it has a plastic tip so no metal taste Its a bit airy as well but i like it better than the CE4s my vamo v3 kit came with. Those things are like trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose.
Lot of people mentioned the pro tank 2. Watched the grimm green review of it. Tip is replaceable and ive seen that the coils are rebuildable. Give that a shot, i plan to.

I second a Kayfun, if you have the money. About $110 for a Kayfun Light, best RBA I've ever used, the rest have been traded or are sitting in my vapebox.

If your new to RBA's, I'ed learn how to rebuild the protank heads first. I didn't find RBA's that hard when I got into them though.

Or you could just get a protank 2 and replace the driptip.

If you can find some older Kanger Evod coils and stock up on them, they really tighten the draw up on the ProTank 1. The PT2, as already mentioned, has a tighter draw. I personally prefer the lighter draw, but YMMV.

I don't think I'll ever go the RBA route. Too much fiddlin' and tinkerin' for me (I quit rebuilding BCC coils for that reason).

Some folks have gotten great results from cartotanks. Finding a quality one of those units might be just your style.
