Ah yes, I see the cheaper Volt kits, I don't know why I was only seeing Volt kits for $65-$85 or something. Everyone seems to really like this eGo Twist thingamajig, though. But really, I just gotta jump on in. And I like the idea of having several options. I misplace things all the time, and since I have 2 households I travel long distances between, then having at least 2 sets would be handy in the long run. Though I'll just start out with one for now I think...oy, the temptations!

And you don't even know how much vaping will improve my life. I've been a closet smoker, and besides the stress leading to me smoking, there of course is the stress of all that is involved in hiding my bad habit. And now smoking in winter, I won't have to spend 15 minutes bundling up to prevent frostbite while I appeased my addiction, and now in summer I won't have to get eaten alive by mosquitoes...And then I always went to town with trying to de-stink myself, which would mean changing clothes, washing my hands and face, brushing my teeth, etc... And of course I always would have to walk like a quarter mile away from where I was to prevent the smoke from wafting nearby... I just think of so much time I've wasted with all these smoking "rituals" with trying to hide it... Granted, I'm still going to hide, but I won't have to go to great lengths since there's no lingering smoke smell and ashes and whatnot.

Volt, e-Go (C, tank, Twist...?) A generic 510 kit? Or now that I'm looking more, at this MyVaporStore for example, the KR808D-1 now seems attractive. A tank option (like for the 510, or the e-Go also has it) seems nice, since I feel weird about there being a sponge/filler/wick thing in my liquid (granted that's totally an uninformed opinion so I don't know).

I know some say to just jump right in. But I also don't just want to end up wasting money on buying something that turns out to be garbage and I'll have to go try another thing and then this and that. Also, if it's too heavy or uncomfortable in my mouth, I dunno. Picky picky picky. reviews always seem to be mixed about things. And I don't want to be that one person who end ups being a 1 star review out of dozens of 5.

I just don't know if I /need/ a Twist. Though I guess could it be equated to having a tightly packed cigarette vs a looser? And how sometimes you want it all tightly packed and for it to be strong and last long, or you loosen it up so it can be a more easy smoke? Does any of that make any sense?

Picky picky picky. Stop being indecisive. Blarg.

I felt the same way, I wanted something that wouldn't feel too different from a cigarette (size/weight wise) and something that would just work. While I was never able to make sure that it would just work and work well, eventually it just came down to me wanting to stop smoking and I'd never stop if I waited to make sure it would just work the way I wanted so I jumped in and got the Volt and haven't looked back since. I'm glad I got 2 batteries though, as I think if I only had one I wouldn't have been able to go completely smoke-free as I'd likely end up smoking while the battery was charging or something...

On a side note (Disclaimer: I'm pretty new to this stuff too) the KR808D-1 on MyVaporStore looks to be the same thing as the Volt (which I know is a KR808D-1, I just don't know if it's different in some way, or it's just a name given to it or something - maybe someone more knowledgeable could let you know about that)..

That's the best advice you can give your self!

If you're getting something that has been recommended here you can't go wrong! What are you waiting for? Chances are no matter what you get now, you'll windup trying other things too just to see what they're like. It's fun, and it's a journey. The grass is always greener etc. (The vapor is always tastier?)

I have both the Volt and the Twist and use them both every day.
Both give excellent vapor, have been reliable and perform as advertised.

The main consideration though is your comfort level with the size of the device. In your initial post you said you wanted something small, slim and pocket friendly. That leads to recommending the Volt.

The Twist is about as thick as a sharpie and fairly long, so while I can still stick it in my jeans pocket it feels bulky. You really know it’s there and gives the “happy to see you” look :D The Volt is about the size of a 100 cigarette. It fits easily into my jeans pocket and is my choice for out and about vaping.

The Twist (650mah size) will last about two times longer than a 78mm volt between charges but seeing that you are a very light smoker that may not be a factor for you. I wouldn’t consider the larger Twist (1000 mah) because it is way to long to pocket.

You really have to decide what you will be most comfortable carrying around and go from there.
Both will give a great vape and both are quality devices.

I do agree with most posts that the Volt would be an excellent choice, but the Volt isn't nearly as flexible as a 510-based system. I would personally recommend a 510 or 510-t. Both provide excellent vapor and allow you to use what you get from your first kit in subsequent kits and with all sorts of accessories. I have an eGo-C that I love and don't care about it's size (the thing is built like a tank and takes a ton of abuse for an e-cig), but I know exactly where you're coming from. I've had several different brands of minis and a few 510s and the 510s are just such a great way to get your foot in the door with a true vaping experience. I hope this helps! :)

I started with a small unit 2.5 years ago (m401) cigarette size mini. The problem for me was the batteries and vapor production. For me the small units just don't work well enough to replace my cigs. Here I am 2.5 years later and i didn't stick it out because I didnt want to shell out money for a better unit. Recently I purchased a Variable Volt Mod and the difference is like night and day. huge batteries/resevoir/ and vapor with a lot less hassle. My point is if the small units don't work well for you upgrade sooner rather than later, I wish I would have.

I got the volt starter kit and I'm really happy with it. I also picked up 2 of the X2 batteries, one of which sits on my desk at work and one of which sits on my desk at home. I use the 65mm auto batteries when I'm out and about. I'm really happy with them. They seem to just work really well. Pick up the XL cartomizers if you want to use the cone with the X2 batteries because otherwise your mouth will go over the cone and you won't be able to draw at all through them. I bought their cowboy juice and didn't really like it. I bought some backwoods brew juice (bacco, hunter's blend, and virginia tobacco) and really like them.

I disagree about the flexibility of the 808 vs the 510 threading.
It’s true that there are some attachments that won’t work for the Volt mini but for the most part you can use a wide variety of attachments on a Volt.
I use cartomizers, atomizers, stardust style tanks (CE4) and CE3’s. You can also get very cheap 808 to 510 adaptors. If you want to eventually upgrade to a bigger eGo style battery Volt also makes those in 808 threading so all your Volt mini attachments will work without adaptors.

The volt mini (78mm) also vapes at a higher voltage than your eGo C

get a provari. you will be happy :)
The guy specifies that he wants something that will comfortably fit in his pocket, is affordable, is a light smoker and thinks an eGo might be a tad too large for him at this point.

You recommend a Provari????

The Provari is a great PV, but sometimes one answer isn’t right for all situations.
