Hello all!
Since our shop went "Non-Smoking" a few months back, I have decided to go the e-cigarette route. (Tired of sneaking out to get a hit.) I ordered the Blu E-cigarette starter kit after trying their disposable one. (Tasted close to what I smoke.)
The kit will be delivered tomorrow. Then I found this site and joined. After browsing for a while, tonight, I realize I may be upgrading soon.
I am just hoping I will be able to quit cigarettes altogether! So, I will give the Blu a shot.
After trying the disposable one I think I might have a shot. (have been smoking for about 35 years....)

I do have a question though...
After smoking a regular cigarette, and I put it out I am good for at least 20-30 minutes. (longer , if I'm really busy at work!)
When smoking an E-cig, when do you feel like you are done? I noticed, while smoking the disposable, that I just kept hitting it till it was dead. Any Input greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Scott

Electronic cigarettes are so convenient and stealth, I tend to take a puff or five...put it down...take another puff or five...etc. I tend not to spend 5 or 10 minutes dedicated to the e-cig with an hour break between another session like I did with cigarettes.

With the Blu, you'll be getting a less satisfying vape compared to the larger PVs (personal vaporizers) commonly used by members of this forum.

There's a crap load of information available here. Try not to get intimidated by the onslaught of new terms, techniques and devices. There's a learning curve involved, but that's part of the fun.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. There are no stupid questions. We've all been in your position and understand there's a lot to learn.

Lastly...I was amazed how effortless quitting cigarettes was after picking up my first electronic cigarette. I wasn't even planning to quit, it just sorta happened. Have fun and best of luck.

Hi Scott congrats and welcome to ECF. I found the same thing when I first started using ecigs I would pretty much use it nonstop. However I'd say after a couple of weeks to a month it dropped off to I'd pick it up at work or home and use it for maybe 5 minutes maybe a little longer and that would satisfy me but I have noticed it all depends on the juice too. If I really like it I use it a lot more. Hope this helped a little but and I'm sure more people will post here too everyone around here is really helpful.

Welcome to ECF! Oh, I suspect you'll be upgrading very soon :D The disposables just didn't cut it for me, but I was able to cut back to 2-3 cigs a day (from pack a day, sometimes more) when I upgraded to an Ego Twist and Kanger T3. I tend to vape a lot when I'm home after work, but that's because I like it so much, not necessarily because I need the nicotine fix.

Hello & Welcome! Blu has been a great starter to many people here but you probably will want to upgrade soon. I have a friend that used them & liked them but the battery life was her biggest complaint. So make sure you have your charging pack handy so that you can always have one charging while when you're using the other. Honestly if I'm just lounging around I vape all day. A couple drags every 10-15 mins. My guess for you may be that you're not getting enough nicotine. I'd start looking into some ego starter kits. That way you can pick what level of nic is best for you to help keep you off the cigs & satisfy your need for nic. If you do upgrade sooner rather than later the blu could become your backup. How many cigs do you smoke a day in general?

Welcome to the ECF! There are several reasons that you may not feel as satisfied for as long compared to a cigarette. First, ecigs do not deliver quite as much of the instant satisfaction that cigarettes do, so you may find that you need to vape a little more often, especially when starting out. Second, there are a lot of other chemicals in cigarettes that you are actually addicted to besides the nicotine, but that will pass. Third, disposables typically are some of the weakest ecigs available. Honestly the Blu isn't great, but should be better than the disposable.

Best of luck and let be sure to check in here with any questions. There are lots of people that went through the same thing you are.

This is more like what I figured would happen. But, if I can cut back, that will be good too!

I'm at about 1 to 1.5 packs a day. I did order the High: Approximately 13-16mg cartridges though. I don't know if this is enough or not, will have to test it out.

I smoked the same amount. If you do decide to go for an upgrade soon with a refillable delivery method look into 18-24mg juice. Some might even say 34 but see how the blu works for you first!

From what I have come across in this vast wealth of knowledge that you might refer to as ECF, most people that smoke as much as you do generally start at the 18 to 20mg nicotine mark when they get started. this definitely varies with people because some people are more on the nicotine side of smoking, and some are more on the oral fixation side. I know, for instance, people who have stopped smoking two packs a day using 6mg nicotine eliquid, you just have to find out what works best for you.

This is what I am hoping for! Figured I would be cheating though, maybe not?

Nah, don't beat yourself up if you still want an analog now and then. I've been smoking for a long time, too, and actually felt like crying when I thought about not buying them anymore  I find that the first cig in the morning is the hardest to give up, but am stoked about only going through a pack a week instead of a day. I've only been steadily vaping for about 6 weeks, and it's getting easier and easier to not smoke. Vaping is so much better!!

Whatever prevents you from continuing to smoke is what's right for you. Is using a patch or hypnotherapy or gum "cheating"? I think not. E-cigs are no different, just way more effective.
