I remember those times also, luckily for the sake and health of our kids those days are gone. I tried to quit for 15 years and finally when I saw those first little ecigs at Seven Eleven and tried them I knew my quit time was at hand. So easy this way, and after all the lozengers, Chantix that almost killed me and patches, I can't imagine what the heck the FDA and other haters are thinking. One day I'll be nic free also but that's not so important to me now. What's important are the 40 years of smoking stinkies are behind me.

Joanr: When I got my Joye ego, I made an appointment with my Dr. and brought my PV with. He's tried to help me quit over last fourteen years. Every conceivable thing out there did not work for me either. I told him the Chantix made me feel like I was taking arsenic laced speed, and Wellbutrin made my head feel like I had too much pressure in it. Not that I know what arsenic laced speed is like, but I have a good imagination :) My Dr. liked my ego and gave me the go ahead to vape away (even gave me some low dose valium if I hit some "really rough" patches)! I did have to use it a couple times when I went from 10 cigs to two a day, my anxiety skyrocketed.
I don't think I could do this without the forum though. I am having a bit of a rough time skipping my morning ciggie today, so I just keep vaping and typing, walking in circles, vaping and typing. Hope ya all don't mind my multiple chatting posts today.

Slight calculation error: I read the forums for a few weeks before ordering juice and PV. Had a plan in mind for reducing analogs and vaping. Went to Dr. - set to go. Reduction from 1 pack per day (well sometimes 1.5 and even 2.0 if I was panic attacky) down to 10 per day. Balanced out. 10 per day down to 2 per day (with a couple days of sneaky threes). Balanced out. Down to 2 per day, doing great.
ONE PER DAY AT NIGHT - I DON'T KNOW I'M CRAWLIN SOME WALLS.
I ordered all 12 mg juice as I didn't want to become Mazy the 24 hour a dazy high nic. vapin crazy. 12 mg has done me good until today. Wish I had some 24mg. to see if that would help with a harder hit ... darn!!!!

Ok, that's probably the reason. I gradually reduced my nic from 24 down to 12. If I had started at 12 I would be having nic fits. It went like 24, 18, 16, 12, and sometimes I do 9 but not this month too much stress around here. So for tonight vape a lot more and order at least a bottle at 18.

Congratulations, Larkfour, on your adventure in overcoming the habit  Now that I've been months without a cigarette, some days I vape in the morning and forget I even vape until the evening. As for nicotine strength ... I do prefer 24mg nic/ml. That said, I'm not particularly a "Mazy the 24 hour a dazy high nic. vapin crazy" :) . I often have to go a few hours here and there when working without vaping and I rarely think about it. I like using the 24mg partially because I feel like a cigarette can't satisfy me the way my e-cig, between the hardware and Annette's great juice, does.

Also ... I hope people don't mind me bringing this up but I feel like it can't be mentioned enough: Water. When I get nicotine or food cravings I invariably come to realize I'm dehydrated. For those who aren't aware, one of the first signs of dehydration - before you even feeling thirsty - is irritability. Spend time out in the desert and it becomes apparent :2cool: FWIW, I consider 1 gallon the minimum amount of water I can drink a day, and that's assuming I'm not drinking any coffee or alcohol or exerting myself. A gallon might sound like a lot but that's only 8 pints. I like to drink a quart when I wake up, a quart before bed and preferably a quart with every meal. Shrug it off if you will, but when I get cravings it's for books and I struggle to gain weight :vapor: You wanna know what's in those happy pills? Water!

Same here (somewhat). I've used ecigs to get away from the 4,000 or so burning bad things, leaving the nic, but as of now I order everything at the highest nic I can get (was a pack or maybe a bit more a day). I'll be tapering down the nic over a much longer period of time (I'm thinking of maybe nic free in a year?). Hang in there! You can do get through this! I think I can honestly say we've all been at least close to where you are right now.

Got a big glass of water, my little red ego that could, and tears running down my face. This has been a really hard 12 hour day so far!
I'm not irritable, I am absolutely exhausted! At the moment I am so disgusted at this 4000 chemical addiction I AM NOT having my evening cigarette. Screw it, I am going to make it 24 hours without one of those blasted things even if I have to Crazy Mazy cry and vape!!!!
I got into this addiction boat all by myself and I sure am glad you guys are here to help me get out of this sinking ship.
Annette I am heading over for some 24mg. EggNog for the Holidays. What PG do I need for some extra throat hit?

Hang in there, Lark! I'm right behind you, by a couple of months! I'm not vaping much yet cuz the juice I have is kind of yucky ... it might just need to steep, or it might just BE yucky. My VV sample pack hasn't shipped yet ... when I get it, then I'll be full speed ahead!

You'll make it. You're doing GREAT!!!! And since you've become accustomed to 12mg VG, I'd think that getting some 24mg 50/50 would probably get you the TH you're looking for, in comparison. Remember, part of that TH is from the nic itself.

No wonder I'm crying. Ever hear of free base nicotine otherwise known as "crack nicotine"? A number of years ago I switched over to the American Spirit Yellow box and then up to the Black Package. The Black Package are really Strong suckers. Here is a quote I found, "American Spirit cigarettes contain 36 percent free-base nicotine compared with 9.6 percent in a Marlboro, 2.7 percent in a Camel, and 6.2 percent in a Winston."
whyfiles.org/183smoking/2.html
My order is in to Annette for 24mg. bottle.

Found that American Spirit are actually made under R.J. Reynolds.

Larkfour...hey you are doing so well, don't get stressed out. I have been vaping for a little more than a year and just recently went down to 12mg. 24mg was too much for me, but at that time I didn't have the lovely VV juice..so I'm sure you will be fine. Seriously...this is a journey..don't ever worry about how much you post..we are here for you:) You really seem to be at the point you enjoy vaping more than smoking...so keep the extra nic on hand for when you need it.
Question for my tank friends.. got my chibi tanks today (thanks ty:) Have to improve on my filling technique..but decided to take my VV Rootbeer Float on the Virgin journey...the vape is fabulous..but do you guys really take these outisde of the house? It's larger than I thought it would be..I'm afraid this might draw a little more attention than I want. But..the vape is fabulous...The beloved jonboy is prettier..but are they just as big? By the by...I am feeling better, finally.

Hang in there Larkfour. You're doing great! I vape 19mg myself and my last order of VV I stepped down to 12mg but had a nic attack on Thanksgiving while at my father's right in front of my husband. I had already told him I had ordered 12mg to step down and he said do not do that again any time soon. Thanksgiving was the worse if I had any 24mg I would have vaped it all at that point. OMG! Hopefully I will be okay with the 12mg (order should be here Friday) till I can get a bottle of 19mg and 24mg ordered. Otherwise I don't know what I'm gonna do myself. Probably vape a lot more of the 12mg then I do of the 19mg. But I refuse to smoke an analog ever again.

Morning, brite and shiny VV Borg!

Ok, can't remember which of you it was, but when i was talking mods, one of you mentioned you had a Buzz Pro and an Infinity Pro. I wanted to ask whoever it was which they prefer of the two?

I have a BuzzPro and an Infinity (original) I love them both about equally. I tend to gravitate more to my Infinity for some reason, it may be the way it fits my hand, it's a bit slimmer than the BuzzPro, but it is also a bit longer. As far as function, they both are equal. IMO, you cannot go wrong with either as far as a vv device. Mine have taken abuse lol, dropping knocking over and the normal wear and tear of an everyday pv. My Infinity isn't as pretty as she was almost a year ago (it's all chrome) and her finish has character now.

Larkfour, if you're going from 100% VG to either 50/50 or 80/20 PG, you'll get a lot more throat hit. But you're also jumping up in nicotine level and this will up your TH a lot too. You may want to go for the 50/50 with the higher nicotine as that should be a big difference. Big hugs and hang in there! We've all been there and we're here for you!

Iowa Gal - I take my tanks everywhere. I'm not one to "stealth vape" unless I have to. I never hid when I was smoking, I have no intentions of hiding my pv / devices. I have gotten questions from the curious, most of them knew or assumed it was an electronic cigarette. It really just comes down to what you are comfortable with. Pre tanks, I'd have to carry spare cartos, and a bottle of juice to top off with, and still got looks/questions. Now I fill a tank and I'm good to go. I don't have a chibi tank, but I do have a Johnboy (and others), I think the Johnboy looks bigger on my pvs than the others.

About 3 weeks into not smoking at all my house just reeked. I went through the entire place and steamed cleaned everything. Even shot the steam in the closets onto everyone's clothes. It was horrible. Now I'm eyeballing the nic and tar on my walls. They used to be a nice shade of off white. Now they are yellow. But I think a paint job this Spring will be easier than scrubbing all these walls. I prided myself on saying I would never be one of those snob x-smokers but when I get around peeps that still smoke sometimes I have to back away. The smell still bothers me but frankly not as much as it did when I first quit. Seems to have tapered off somewhat.

Hiya, Joan! Make sure when you do your paint 'spruce up' to get rid of nicotine, that you use the special paint w primer built in, or that nicotine will ooze right back out onto your pretty new paint. Ug.

And yeah, I don't know what the correlation is between severe fibro and the super sense of smell that turns into crazy chemical sensitivities, but it definitely exists. But boy, there's a lot of us who are or know someone with serious fibro, here! Oh, and as for the cat odor vs. chemical odors... I dont' understand it at all, but most serious cleaning products don't bother me at all, cat smells, not in the slightest.. but let someone spray one single spray of perfume across the whole house thru 3 closed doors and with an exhaust fan on in bath and an air cleaner in my room, and I'll wake up out of a sound sleep choking. Its nuts, I tell ya! Nuts! rofl Some smells just drive me nuts, and some don't bother me at all. Weird.

I didnt get all the way thru the thread today, but caught some people talking about tanks? I recently got a chibi from parkes, just to make 100% sure that I like em, but can't wait to get one of these transparent colored tank beauties from Nhaler. They're SOOOO pretty! I rather like the looks of tanks anyway, but these pretty translucent colored ones are outstanding. I think I need two. One for VV Mango Mint Julep, and one either for VV Blueberry Cheesecake or Organic Strawberry Shortcake (that's not a VV one, but one i DIY). I know they're not overly subtle looking, but I think they're just so gorgeous! And love the idea that you can use them again and again just by swapping the carto inside. I need to get one of those carto punching tools from hardware store, though, so I can stop buying em pre-punched. ;)

And thanks, Minx, for the low down on the VV mods! I want a provari, I really do, but i just can't justify that kinda expense, I don't think. So looking like it'll be the lava tube if the silver ones look nicer to me than the black, or else I'll have to spend a tiny bit more and get the infinity or the buzzpro. Either way, probably gonna happen a bit after xmas expenses, but want to have it all planned out so I can hunt for a sale. ;)
