Good news! Now my roommate wants to try it

Okay, I did lots of research for me. Now I need to start for my roommate. He has decided that if he likes mine when he tries it, and it seems to work for me, then he will get one too! Here's to hoping everything goes to plan!

For myself I ordered a KR808D-1, extra cartos, several kinds of juice ranging in nic levels from 12 to 36, a huge starter pkg with PCC, and all the other toys....I smoke 1-2 PAD of Eve Light 120s. Now this morning we were talking and he is open minded to it (and I think a bit jealous that I didn't mention it to him and just kind of ordered it... )

So now I need to know what you all would suggest for him. Smokes 2-3 packs a day of full flavor kings and menthols (mixing them up), spends a ton of time laying in bed watching TV, is computer illiterate (almost), so no USB for a PT.....and also works, so we will need something he can take with....

He'll try mine but I know he won't use them since my batteries are gold and my cartos are purple...and my PT is lilac LOL

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think you're already on the right track since he'll be able to give yours a try and see if it works for him (even if it is purple lol). One step at a time.

Seems like a lifetime ago but I used to smoke 120s, too. Congrats on making the switch and welcome to ECF!

I don't see any reason why he wouldn't like the same kit as you (at least to start out with). As long as he gets a PCC he'll be ok (though he might want to add an extra battery just in case). A good alternative might be either the eGo XL/eGo/Riva (510 threaded), or the elegant easy or pigcig (both 808 threaded, like yours).

Best of luck to you and your roommate, sure is working for my wife and I.

My wife told me last night that she keeps a pack of fresh cigarettes hidden when she is trying to quit smoking, just in case she goes nuts .... she has not even been tempted to touch them, is ready to throw them away.

I want an Ego...so maybe after my original package gets here I will order that too....then if he doesn't like it... lol But most likely I will get him the same thing. He's in the not so bright category, so the simpler the better. Ok, that was mean...but he's not into learning curves lol

Astronomer, I am happy to hear about your wife and you! These kind of stories are what made me decide to try this! Besides, whenever I quit with the patches, etc, I actually missed the act of smoking. This seems like the holy grail of not smoking to me!

1st timers seem tend to go for a PV thats shaped like a cigarette (at first I did too) but a box mod can be easier on the wallet and less time changing batteries. For a 2-3 PAD smoker, he's going to want some battery life. A factory battery kit is probably going to frustrate him with recharges (I know it did me) I'd recommend a passthrough at the very least, but an Ego/Riva would probably suit him better. If he's on the go a lot, I'd recommend cartomizers or he'll also be refilling constantly. I use Ce2 R4 XL clearomizers. They can be a bit fragile, but hold almost 2mil of liquid and have a good draw and hit. If he's home most of the time, dripping on a passthrough will keep him going.

But it is also true that I like the act of smoking, the feel of it, I even like the 3 min break at work for me to get up from my desk, step outside and relax a moment with a cigarette, the feel of the smoke, the entire experience is enjoyable to me

The E-Cig not only satisfies me with my addiction, but also has all the parts that I particularly enjoy about having a cigarette.

It is a win-win

I have had eGos and tho they did there job at first they didnt match battery like of a 14500 or better yet 18650 battery box mod. Cartos are a good choice but with a 6ml bottle selfjuicer I have nolonger need them. They too served a needed purpose for me once but now they are a added expense and hassle. Squeeze and hit...much easier. When cartros can hold 6ml of juice I will buy them.
