Next up - what topper are you going with??? Whole other world and in my opinion as much to more important than the battery. Happy vaping!

When I order it, I plan on just getting their starter kit which comes with a ProTank2... I've read mixed reviews about them but that will be my next little step into this very big and quickly growing world of options.

The provari is a good piece of equip. It is vv only which can sometimes be a bit limiting. I have one and I use it for rebuilding coils to check the ohms but I really don't use it that much. It seems to only like the most expensive battery as it prefers the aw. I prefer vw as in the zmax or vamo, and I can buy 3/4 of them for the same price.

The real question is: What will the OP have to give up to get it?

If spending ~$200 is not a big deal, then by all means go for it. However, if spending that prevents him from buying other stuff that might improve his vaping experience more, then he might be better off buying a less expensive mod. With a limited budget, spend money on good topper(s) first.

I am a ProVari owner now for 8-9 months, If you want a quality mod I would go with the ProVari. I would go with the regular one so you can use the 18650 batteries,You will not regret it at all.I have had no problems with it at all. Just received my Russian 91% and Just have to say You can not go wrong. If you ever pick one up, You will know what Im talking about. Do me a favor and throw your cig's in the garbage and buy the ProVari, lol

How much was the Provari in the store? Typically store vendors don't stand to make much money on a Provari sale as they are usually one of the more pricey mods they carry, so they keep the profit margin low just to make any kind of sale on them. Provape doesn't offer price reduction on Provari's for re-sellers like some other manufacturers do. That's why my local B & M doesn't carry them.

The sales person also may have figured since you are new, you should start out with a less expensive model as your first mod. I see it here on ECF all the time.

As long as you've done your research, have the cash, and want a Provari I say go for it. It's rare for anyone to be disappointed with one. And if its not for you after experiencing it, it can be easily resold in the classifieds for nearly what you originally paid for it. You'll more than likely end up getting one at some point in the future anyway.

Why Provari?

I drowned my provari and being drunk I figured I would fish it out and fire it. Shorted the chi. Sent it to provape had it fixed free under the warranty and sent back.
Also baditude I dont think the shop had the provari. He went in and asked for their opinion on it. So they suggested something they had in the shop for op to purchase instead.
Op if you can swing the money for one get it. If you can't then no worries. Goodluck and hope whatever you choose is awesome for you.

I'm with the informed majority here. I've been off the stinkies less than a month now, and I already own two Provari. That doesn't mean that I won't one day decide to try something else, but early in my quest to quit I knew I wanted a good device. As for the Protank 2 that comes with the Provari from Provape -- it was pretty awful when I first got it. Check around the forum and you'll find that many (and that includes me) recommends an Aerotank base that costs $5. To me, without the Aerotank base, the PT2 is a piece of junk. In fact, if I were you, when I order the Provari, I would purchase the Aerotank base from Provape and get them both at the same time.

Good luck!

double post :-x

Sorry... I found a lot about the pros and cons of Provari and a bunch of other ones but didn't see anything that answered my question. My bad.

$200 is $200. I'm not giving up food to spend it but I certainly don't wipe my...well..you get the point. I just didn't want to spend another $200 getting to that $200 if I didn't have to. They basically told me I would break it if I didn't practice on something cheaper (they didn't have any Provari in stock but said they would next week)... I just ordered the Provari Mini starter kit. If I somehow blow it up, then I will bring it to the store and tell them they were right. I've been there once a week since I started and don't plan on changing that... their juice is delicious!

Wish I saw this 20 minutes ago... I'll call tomorrow and see if I can add that. Thanks!!!

Another more than satisfied ProVari owner here. And I see them selling used on eBay for MORE than the original cost, often!! So if you don't bang it up and want to sell it, yeah, you can get your money back, or most of it at worst.

If you DO want to try something a little less expensive before making that move, how about the Innokin iTaste vv/vw3? Nice form factor and has both the variable wattage and voltage, also a puff count and some other nice features such as pass through capability . Drawbacks: 800 battery only, and it is ultimately disposable - can't replace the battery.

I see that now. Probably because there isn't a HUGE learning curve going from a cheap starter kit to a ProVari. There's a better chance of blowing something up with a cheap battery than with the batteries you'll get in your ProVari kit.

Wow, I really envy all of you guys having the so much options to choose from. From where I from, vaping is illegal otherwise I would have own at least a vv/vw and 1 mech by now. It was so difficult for me to get hold an ego with a CE4 not mentioning the lack of juice supply as well. Anyway my CE4 just cracked on me, now I really do not know what I should do, go back to analogs??? I think I will probably have to try to epoxy the CE4...:(

It's pretty hard to break a Provari. That shop doesn't know what they're talking about. :) If you try to do anything on the Provari you shouldn't do, it won't fire and will throw an error code until you figure out what needs to be changed (usually just the voltage). That's the first time I've ever heard that used as a reason not to buy one!

I went directly from an eGo starter kit to a Provari and now own 3 of them (and my boyfriend owns one too). I was in the same boat, in complete analysis paralysis because I liked everything I'd read about the Provari but it seemed so expensive for what was just something I enjoyed doing (I didn't start vaping to quit smoking). My very wise boyfriend, who's known me for 23+ years, said "Just get the Provari, you're going to get there anyway." He knew I would spend a bunch of money in between and did the right thing by pushing me over the Provari cliff. A week later he got one too.

If I had to do it over again I'd get a Mini first - my first two are full size, but my third is a Mini. You can make a Mini into an 18490 or 18650, but you can't make a full size Provari smaller. :) So you made a good choice on both counts! Enjoy!
