Danny, why is 120 the temperature to not exceed? I just now checked mine and it was 124.....Oops!

It was basically the consensis in the steeping times and ultasonic cleaner thread that 120f was the best temp to steep at. Anything higher runs into the range of cooking juice and not steeping.

The method of steeping is a personal choice. Some have the patience to wait weeks for there juice and some want instant gratification. I myself have both conditions. When I make a new mix or completely run out of my ADV I want it NOW. When I have plenty of my ADV I make it and just let it sit on the shelf and age naturally.

Thanks Danny. I'm just trying to learn. When I think about using similar flavors to bake a cake, for example, it cooks in a 350 degree oven and doesn't burn. Unless you leave it too long. Also I'm going to assume that when the juice is heated at the coil when vaping it's much hotter than 120 and doesn't taste burned. I guess it's different for steeping?

I was steeping at around 100 degrees yesterday - I didn't use the heat function, and that tends to be what my uc goes to naturally. I steeped for around 80 minutes (10 cycles), and the juice is certainly steeped as I expected it to be. These, though, were delicate flavors - perhaps stronger flavors need higher temps?

The reason it don't taste burnt at the coil is the liquid is instantly vaporized when at the correct voltage but get the coil to hot lets say raising the voltage on a VB and it will taste burnt.
