I finally bit the bullet today and purchased my first E cig and have been puffing away on it for the last few hours.
Being an avid vaporiser user for herbs I thought I may as well avoid all smoke and get one for tobacco as the current iolite vaporiser I've had for the last year or two is not a good method for tobacco consumption.

I got a Hydro Electronic cigarette and from the first puff I employed the same technique for using traditional vaporisers, long slow draws, and I have to say it is a fair bit better than what I was expecting.

The only downfall is its actually going to cost me more to use this thing than what it costs me to smoke as I have not purchased tobacco for the last year as I've been growing my own (which I believe is healthier than processed tobacco) but at the end of the day as far as I'm concerned health is the number 1 issue.

I really just cant believe how simple this thing is to use, hopefully I never smoke again, but I will continue to grow tobacco as I enjoy the growing side of things and it will be a great test of willpower having tobacco plants and not smoking them.

So...time to get back to reading through this website and maybe picking up a few hints and tips in the process

This forum is a great resource you can learn a great deal on here. In regards to ecigs costing more you may want to look at a different model. There are a few great suppliers on here that will ship internationally. Good luck on quitting

Thanks, hopefully I'm not tempted to smoke again, I really hate the feeling I get after a smoke, I guess its a guilty sick feeling and I've had a sore throat for the last month and the only thing that sets it off was after having a couple of smokes.

Cost isnt really an issue, I'll have to see how long each cartridge lasts, if I was paying for tobacco I would definately be saving $$ now, as long as 5 cartridges last longer than a week, which I'm sure they will, time will tell.

I will be sure to look into other brands and no doubt in the near future I'll upgrade, I've owned 5 different vaporisers over the years and have now got the one that best suits me, I'm sure it will be the same with the E cigs.

Welcome...I believe there is info on extracting nicotine from tobacco plants in the DIY section...with the addition of PG/VG base and maybe some flavorings(if wanted) you could make your own juice...now, that would be DIY cool indeed......
madjack:2cool:

Cool, that is something to look into, I like the idea of being as self sufficient as possible when it comes to consumables in nature, and it will give my tobacco growing passion a purpose rather than just a pointless hobby, this info is much appreciated.
I think I'm gonna have a sore head by the end of the day looking into this and all the other info availible.

Ahhh, It feels good to have something new to get my teeth into.

Ecigs are don't have to be more expensive to use than smoking if you buy a known standard model instead with blank cartomizers and more places to get supplies instead of a mystery model.

But I see you are in New Zealand so your choices are probably limited. I recommend you get one more post or reply (total 5) and an hour later go to the Australia/NZ forum and see if anyone knows other places you can get supplies for what you bought, see what they are using, etc.

Remind me when your post count is up and I can email you an effective method for making a 'WTA' (all the alkaloids not just nicotine) liquid from tobacco. Your mail is not currently available.
