Pretty much. Without a carto attached there is nothing to complete the circuit ...so no possiblity of current flow.
With all the things we use a USB port for I’m always concerned about wearing out a port before the computer is worn out. Beings all I have to do is unscrew the cartomizer, I’ll just dedicate one of the ports for the PT and leave it plugged in; except if we're gone, or retired for the night. The computer gets powered down then anyways. :)

Sandy68....I went to the V4L order site, and looked at the battery colors again. The pink batteries are alot
lighter in the picture than they actually are. Peach, flesh-colored? My pink batteries are a brighter, darker
pink than the pictures depict. I think you got the correct batteries. Sorry they aren't what you expected.
I think they are pretty! Pink cartomizers look good on them too.
...thanks for taking a peek and giving your input. Something that I noticed is that the batteries change hue under different lighting. They have a dark peachy look under warm lighting, with a hint of a deeper shade of pink when placed under a bright white light. I noticed this awhile ago when I took the battery over to my task desk to study how I might lay out some nail stickers on one of them. On my computer screen the V4L pink batteries look more like a cotton candy pink, or a Mary Kay pink, and that’s what I was expecting. I’m okay with them; they work great and I think they’ll look cute decorated. Seriously, I think there are far far worse things in life than being a little disappointed over the color of a couple batteries. Besides, I got 2 *gorgeous* lavender batteries for free with my order, so I’m looking at my peachy pink batteries as a bonus! I’m still a happy camper any way I look at it!! ;)

Oh, and I just filled my FIRST carto a couple hours ago! And to think that only a two weeks ago I didn’t even know what a electronic cigarette was! LOL.

...I caught your posts earlier this evening (well, I guess it’s technically last night now) asking me to post photos of my artwork, so I finished decorating the lavender battery so I could share a couple photos...will be tied up a wee bit Sunday. The colors are off a mite, and one can’t really see the sparkle in the little nail stickers, but you get the idea. The V4L batteries are beautiful just as they are...I just enjoy personalizing things. :)

Okay, photo one here is a shot of the front side of the batteries. The VP in the middle is my Cig2o and it’s sporting a V4L pink carto. Beings this is the Vapor4Life board, I thought it a good idea to put something V4L on the little guy. :D Notice how short the Cig2o battery is next to the Vapor King. Can only imagine how short the Cig2o battery would look next to a VK XL!

I think you can probably tell that this is a shot of the batteries turned face down.

Wow, very fancy lookin' batteries ya got there :D The one with the flowers remind me of Hawaii...kinda makes me want to decorate one Aloha style lol

As for wearing out your usb port, I've used the same port with my PT for the past year without issue. I even leave my PT plugged in all the time, (though not advised by others), and haven't had any issues yet.

Oh and welcome to the family \o/

Those are great Sandy - very creative!

I wonder if I could come up with a way to add racing stripes or flames to mine!
Hey, if you are good with a paint brush, or have an air brush, I bet you could do a mean job on your bats. :) Racing stripes are SO striking!! Hmmmm...wonder if there’s a place to order those little racing stripe decals model car enthusiasts deco their model race/sports cars with. I know the decals usually come with the model kits, but I bet there are places one can order extras, etc. BTW, I think thunderclouds, and lightning, would look awesome too!

Oh Sandy68 they are so very pretty! Did you put clear finger nail polish over the stickers? Thanks for posting these pics.

Griffin can you paint? Flames would be so cool.

Those are so very unique! Now I may need to decorate a couple! Will the decor stay on though??
Hey, glad you liked my pretties! :D Yes, I used clear nail polish on the stickers and their edges, but not the rest of the bat; then slowly rotated them in front of a small fan until a little past the sticky stage. After that, I stood them up in the grooves of the box my Cig2os came in and let the fan continue to dry them...rotated them every so often so they’d dry evenly. Once the polish dries *completely* (as in all the way through), the over-all feel is very solid. Personally, I don’t see how they would come off under normal use. The only thing I was concerned about on the pinkish and lavender batteries, was that the stickers had those shiny little balls on them that stick up, but once the clear nail polish hardens they feel quite solid.

The KEY to getting the stickers to stick well while decorating is to wash/dry your hands really well and clean the batteries using rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball before starting. Just take care not to get any liquid in the bat itself; especially around the button if you have a manual. Also try not to handle the stickers with your fingers...I used a tiny pair of tweezers to pick them up. Oh, and if you have old eyes like mine, a pair of magnifying glasses come in handy...clip-ons in my case.

Another thing, after you clean the bat off with alcohol, screw the bat into your battery charger and take a lead pencil and trace a line completely around the bat before you start adding stickers; this acts as a guide so you will no how far up you can place the stickers without them interfering with charging. The pencil mark rubs off real easy when it’s no longer needed as a guide...do this right before sealing the stickers with the clear nail polish.

Now to give credit where credit is due. :thumb: I would have never thought about using nail stickers had I not ran across a YouTube video made by a member of ECF...MistressNomad. It’s titled "E-cig decorating. It's fun. Try it. Part 1 - The body". Part two is called "E-cig decorating. It's fun. Try it. Part 2 - End caps" , where MistressNomad shows how to replace the ash cap with something prettier if you so desire. I probably won’t do that as I like the color of the leds in mine.

If you ever read this post MistressNomad, thank-you for those vids!

...if you ever decorate a bat Aloha style, you will have to post a picture as I bet it would be beautiful! The sky really is the limit when it comes to stickers and imagination. :)

And thanks for the input on the PT and USB port. I haven’t used my PT yet as I’ve been to busy learning and doing other things. Once I know it works, I’ll probably decorate it too at some point. lol

WOW!

that is fantastic creative work! at first i thought you had your local nail salon paint them up for you.

hm now i wonder if nail salons would think we're crazy if we walked in with a bunch of batteries and asked for customizing.

Thanks tj1100cl and aubergine for your nice comments! Funny thing is, I’ve never purchased a package of nail stickers before, much less used them in any way. They are tiny but with small tweezers they handle quite well. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to lay the stickers out, and then keeping the bat still while applying the sticker. Didn’t matter whether I held the bat in my hand, or laid them down, they’d want to role...definitely takes a bit of patience. I learned real quick NOT to do anymore than gently lay the sticker on the bat, while still hanging on with the tweezers, until I knew for certain it was positioned the way I wanted.

Aubergine, you will do just fine :) ...just go slow and keep a light touch. MistressNomad’s video really helps. Hope you will let me/us know how it goes!
