I had a similar issue when I first started using a GGTS. My problem was with using Tenergy batteries. I had two 3V batteries on a 2ohm atty. The PCB on the batteries did not allow the watts it created.

Please tell us what batteries you are using and what kind of atomizer. Ie standard 2ohm 510 atty with two Tenergy batteries.

This will help us get a better idea of your problem, and help you resolve it.

I am using a 2.0omh cisco atty with an AW 18650 2900mah battery - these worked perfectly together in another mod both prior to the arrival of the the GG and staright after when I needed a break from tring to get the GG to work.

Make sure the grease doesn't combine with the juice, though - that's why the recommendation for vaseline.:)

Why would silicone grease be more likely to combine with the juice than Vaseline. I'd much rather I had my juice in contact with food grade silicone grease than Vaseline. Silicone grease is heat resistant too ( up to 500 degrees C )

Congrats on getting it up and running....sometimes stuff happens and you never find the cause. The important thing is you are enjoying your new GGTS. Another option for lube is Parker O-Ring Lube.....great stuff Thick so it stays put and slicker than owl poop. It's non reactive with both PG and VG. Check the MSDS Sheet for the details.

My bad..working from memory I posted Roberts when it's Parker.

Here's the LINK

Glad your GG came to life! :) I'm using a 306 with an XL Delrin tip...I found that if I tightened the atty down all the way, I'd get the "hot button". Backing off the atty off by a turn or two still gave great contact, and fixed the hot button. Just in case you run into that :)

What kind of glass drip tip are you using? Can you use the collector tank with it, or did you have to leave the top off?

Thanks for the tip I've had no hot button - yet ! lol

I'm using a Drip tip from Cloud 9 - I won't post a link in this forum but you can find it easy enough.

The drip tip is just too thick for me to use it with the collector tank top on so had to leave it off. I'm still using the main body of the collector tank though - it should be good to catch the odd drip from the leaky 306s that I love to use. It still looks good too :)

Ok guys - I left it alone last night - I just wanted to chill and vape after a day of frustration.

Today I took the top of the collector tank and replaced the XL drip tip I was using ( i needed to use it, to use the collector tank and the variable draw) with my fav glass drip tip. Not a change that would effect anything I wouldn't have thought.

Anyhows I just fired it up leaving everything the same - just to make sure it wasn't working.

Miraculously it worked fine and is still working fine now four hours later. I haven't a clue what has happened overnight and feel even more of an idiot now than I did when I posted my original question lol

I'd still like to know what was going on but if it continues to vape ok the I won't really care.

All I can think of is that after all my fiddling yesterday it has removed enough nolox for a good conection to now be made and that I had applied too much nolox to start with.

The reason I used nolox is because it's what I have used on all my other mods previously and it has worked fine. I used food grade silicone grease on the collector tank because I didn't want to risk vaping nolox ( or Vaseline for that matter ) and figured that silicone grease would be safe and better up to the job with it's heat resistant properties than anything else.

I use noalox and so do many other folks on stainless threads. The zinc oxide cleans the threads as it's mashed up in there from turning. It really does help keep the best possible electrical connection on threads. I have read a couple of posts by Imeo suggesting that he is also using noalox now on his SSGGTS after someone sent him a tube to try out.

lord, I dont use noalox, its useless. If you put noalox between 2 plastic parts you will never make them contactive. That means that surfaces have to be clean to reach a good cotactivity. Noalox doesnt do anything.

Carol, I was the first one on ecf that used brass on connections and I was the first one that used copper springs. But its useless to use brass or copper connections on steel mods.

delboy, all your problems comes from springs. Clean the battery's spring and the button's spring, thats all

I hate springs for their low contuctivity thats why I replaced the button's spring with the magnets and thats why I dont have a battery spring to my GGTS

Hi there Imeo - thanks for the reply

Am I OK to just remove the battery spring from the end cap's centre post then ?

Thanks, although feel a bit like I got caught out by the headmaster when I saw your reply. :) Welcome back. :D
you will not have a protection against shorts, so better to clean it Del
Please forgive me for asking, what extra protection does the GGTS fuse protection upgrade give over the standard spring then?
Also does having to use two springs in the Fuse lower its effectiveness?

Imeo, are you back from vacation, or are you just sneaking time on your computer? Heh, you just can't stand more then a few days away from your work!

I feel the same way about springs, bad for conductivity, but a little safer to have them....a necesary evil

I would have come back sooner but the place I went for holidays was a very small place without an internet cafe moon. I was worrying about all of you while I was internetless (new english word ) but I finally manage to come back soon. My sister was reading all those days the forum to see if something happened but she told me that all were ok. :)
