I figured out quick I'd have to give up the laser etching if I wanted perfect matching seams with all pieces and the brass caps. Started with it completely assembled, and started spinning it in 220 grit paper. After about 30 minutes I went to 320 grit, then steel wool, and finally finishing up with a toothpaste rub with a cotton cloth (toothpaste makes a great poor man's final metal finish). It glows it's so shiny, and all the seams match. I had to actually shine up a BE112 a little to make it the same level of shine.

I'm thinking of buying a GG Trans when the site goes up in September. Since it is a higher priced mod, I would appreciate it already being shiny when I buy it. I wonder why they aren't?

Honestly because some of us like the way it looks right now, bling is nice, but not all the time.

would be a nice option in the future.polished for an extra 5 bucks or something.pretty easy to do with the proper tools.the guy that done mine said it only took a few minutes
It kind of would be nice to have the option so that if you want polished, it could be done before the engraving goes on although adding numerous different options can be a complete nightmare for suppliers......
I am completely undecided as to whether to stay industrial looking or go ultra-shiny when mine arrives..........I like it both ways :D

I think I like the whole scratched up look I've got going on, since i've been leaving it in my pocket with my keys

Yes, that would be something that would worry me - if you start buffing, you've kind of got to carry on forever.....could get very boring very quickly....
