Couldn't do it Crimmy. However I did happen to still have a GLV version 1 body that Jay had sent me to experiment with so I made a spacer with some scrap aluminum and I'm still vapin' on my GLV 2 while I'm working on the veneer. Life is good!

I decided to go with the celtic knot instead of the deer. Came out good I think.

The Triskelle is walnut set in a maple burl background. I believe the banding is maple, cherry and ebonized holly.

These are beautiful. If I am lucky enough to win the GLV2 in the contest, I will definitely pick a wood veneer...They are gorgeous! You are quite the artist.

The truth is I'd love to be busy doing this but I have 24 of these puppies already made and no one's ordered one yet. I don't know if people just don't want to wait the extra few days to get their GLVs or if it's the extra cost or what but so far I've gotten only compliments. Don't get me wrong, I love compliments but I've had this thread going for over a month and I thought this idea would have caught on by now.
That's why I'm working on getting out some other products as well. I won't discuss them in Jay's sub forum as they are not necessarily GLV related but please look for a thread from Deer Lake Woodworks in the general suppliers forum some time in the next month or so.
I'm still offering this veneer service exclusively for the GLV but I have some other ideas for stuff Y'all might like as well.

I want to thank Mark for such nice work he did on my GLV-2! I saw this "Got Wood" post and knew I had to have one. So if you are like me and love the look of fine woods and still want one of the best made mod on the market then this is the way to go. And to Jay thank you for all your hard work on making the GLV's what they are, this thing works like a champ!

Sounds like I'm receiving an Oscar.
