I think this is a great idea. I would be happy to participate. I would like to see a standardized process developed for each product catagory to make the testing more scientific.
For a bottom coil fillerless carto, ie Phoenix:
Wicking - Dry hits after 1 hit and waiting 5-10 mins, Dry hits after chain
vaping, no dry hits
Flavor - Taste clean like the true flavor of
juice used, strong flavor/taste, weak (This would have to be tested at 3.7 for a 2.5ohm -> 2.8 Ohm) 3 Ohm + 4.2 V - 5 V) etc
Draw - tight or airy or in the middle
Ease of Cleaning
Rebuildable - yes or no
USeful life before having to be tossed
Performance with different VG/PG ratios, 100%PG, 90%PG/10%VG, 80% PG/20% VG, etc
Time needed to break-in
Leaking - Does carto leak?
Overall quality of battery connection,
tank, coil/wicking used, etc
Ohm rating stated by factory equal actual tested ohm rating
Any special mods needed to improve performance, ie trimming wicks a bit
etc
etc
Those are some of the items that came to mind. I think a special Alpha Sticky thread could be created and then spearate threads created for each Alpha product listed on site could be created where Alhpa members that are testing a particular product can post their thoughts/comments/testing results for all Alpha members to see. The Alpha thread could be restricted to only allow Alpha members to post in it.
