It is a warmer vape than the protank on the same wattage both being bottom coils. I love the mouthpiece. I would buy one if available as a drip tip (hint) not thrilled with the pg coating as I am allergic I think it is a fun little thing. Would I love to have one on new years eve, (or other occasions) yup but as an everyday product I would pass. Thanks for the opportunity to try one. I'm putting it away for an occasion.

I got the Sax last tuesday, and ive been using it at about 3.5 volts with strawberry flux liquid. I like the idea of the design, but there are a few things about it that i think could be better.

1. For some reason the flavor of the vape seems to be really lacking compared to other bottom coils I've used with the same juice. I am almost barely tasting the juice at all but the vapor production seems decent other than that.

2. I wish the tip was threaded instead of just a pull off type thing, because ive accidently knocked it loose a couple of times.

3. I know that bottom coils tend to have a cooler vape, but in my opinion its too cool compared to the vapeonly bcc, and when i pushed the voltage to say 4.0 It tasted burned.

4. replaceable heads.

All in all, I think its a decent product, but not my first choice in a bcc clear.

I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or if the one I ordered has a defect (maybe a plastic molded section has a knick or excess plastic that prevents a full seal - MANY YEARS AGO I worked at a factory building switches for everything from automobiles, snow plows, jet skis, airplanes, and even switches that went into areas where the designs & products were used by the government in various areas including the space shuttle, simulators, etc...

If the molded parts came out of the pour with the slightest of excess plastics & not sanded or tossed for another piece, it would ruin the entire switch & it wouldn't work nor would it pass QC (Quality Control). It was of great interest to me b/c I happened to have been chosen to sit on the board, work with the depts that created the molds from blueprints & poured them. If they didn't pass 'spec,' my group was the one who went to the CEO and often before the engineers who designed the blueprints to show them where their errors were but it's important to note that back then my sight was intact even though I did have to wear corrective lenses & I had the weekly disposable contacts for when I went out clubbing with friends and when I was working at various bars over the years as a barmaid. The few times that one of my co-workers, esp the guys on the construction jobs I worked happened to end up in the club where I tended bar 6 nights a week happened to show up used to tease me excessively b/c I didn't look anything like the woman they worked with on the job when compared to how I dressed when it was 'my time' so to speak, and I was able to wear what I wanted, which was usually something super slinky & trading in my steel-toed work boots in for one of many pairs of 5 & 6-inch stiletto boots or pumps I wore when tending bar but then again, I could earn more money working a single night from Thursday thru Saturday & well surpass my weekly paycheck in 1 night just in tips alone. I didn't do so bad on any given night Monday through Wednesday either... LOL! I wore my contacts at the bar too & when I went clubbing although it's important to keep checking contacts if you wear them and go out or even staying in when you drink alcohol b/c it changes the shape of the eyes, which can cause a contact to fall out of your eye.

The most hateful thing the US did was pass that horrid law all b/c a group of pansy-a$$es griped & sniped about smoking in bars. I don't know about most people here but there is something completely unnatural about being in a bar drinking alcohol & not being able to smoke! At least most bars can now bypass that BS law and allow vaping. A friend of mine comes to stay with me for a few days to a week or two a few times a year and we always go out for drinks at a local restaurant with a full bar. They have never had a problem with me using my e-cig at the bar or even at a table. It drives my best friend crazy b/c she's still on analogs no matter how hard I have attempted to get her to make the switch. I've even offered to place the order for her to buy one of the e-cigs that have come through the Alpha program as long as I was able to use it for a few days before passing it off to her so I had some idea as to how well it worked or not but she hasn't done it yet. She's vaped my Mod e-cigs over the last few years but she doesn't care for it; hwr, I believe it is b/c I don't use tobacco flavors b/c in the beginning, I had a fear that if I did use tobacco flavors, it would push me back to analogs but after 4+ years, I'm seriously considering getting a nice tobacco flavor e-liquid and keep enough on hand so she can try it when she comes in and hope it may change her mind. (she lives in a nearby state but we're still about 7hrs or so away from each other & she has to drive through the mountains just to get to the other side of them where I live & that's still another 5hrs, give or take, from my home. Here's to hoping I can get her to make the switch to e-cigs, esp considering she has been diagnosed with Lupus. :'( ) I keep telling her it would do her a world of good if she switched over now while the disease is in the mild to moderate stages and while her specialists are testing for any other autoimmune diseases.

But I digress....

Have you notice the major leaking issues with this one? I love the warm vape but I can't stand having to keep an absorbant paper towel handy & only use it at home b/c it leaks so bad. I haven't used it recently b/c I don't have the e-liquid to spare and I'm waiting on an order of liquid to come in now as it is. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who is having this major leaking issue b/c the vaping warmth and TH is great; it's the leaking that spoils it for me. :(

I can't see the photo clearly but my daughter says she thinks the picture looks like my SID. If that is the case, can you give me a run down of the best wattage number for this tank? (I'll have to change it after my e-liquid order comes in b/c I don't have enough to spare right now but it will give me an idea as to making the vaping experience any better if possible. I run btw 4.0 & 4.4 volts to prevent the burnt taste but I'm not sure what the wattage should be set to when using 3.0ohm cartos or 3.0 wick heads on the Vivi)

I really like a cool vape. I use as low as 3 watts and as high as 5.5 usually. Some juices I go a bit higher but rarely.

Yiddleboge6 & FL Lori:

Please forgive my late response. I am so fatigued right now that I don't check my email or threads as often as I want b/c of my liver issues going on right now. It is also painful to difficult to impossible to type at various times as my doctors tell me not to take any medications, prescription or OTC for the autoimmune-induced & also due to the many broken bones that includes a few fingers on each hand over the years that are designed to reduce the inflammation and the pain. It's difficult to hold a cup, eating utensils, and esp so with chopsticks since many of the meals I prepare are what most would consider Asian meals. I taught our girls to use chopsticks & they became amazingly proficient by the ages of 2 to 3 years old but DH doesn't have the skill set, even when I use the rubber-band trick, which is how I taught the girls. I've had people say I'm odd to have children who could eat using chopsticks before they were able to use a fork and spoon. LOL! It is a different experience for me to use forks and spoons b/c of the meals I prepare and the fact I've used chopsticks most of my life and now I can't until my liver problems are straightened out, if it's possible, which I hope it is, and I can start taking medicine for the inflammation again. I can't even take a Tylenol for a headache! But I digress.

I can't thank you two enough for the assistance on how to use the wattage. I tried searching info on how to set it but I wasn't able to find anything with any definitive answers. The information you two shared is clear and concise and I cannot thank you enough. It helps tremendously.

I also learned, with the help of my daughter, that the wattage doesn't change when changing out batteries like the voltage does.

Thank you so much. Know that your assistance is immensely appreciated.

Warmest regards and all my best wishes for a nice weekend,

Paise

Paise....Hi....the beauty of vaping with watts is that you don't have to worry about what ohms your coils/heads are. Just adjust up or down on the watts to find what you like for your particular juice....the mod will adjust the voltage to deliver that wattage no matter what the ohms are. ;)

I really like a cool vape. I use as low as 3 watts and as high as 5.5 usually. Some juices I go a bit higher but rarely.

Hi all,

Sorry if I'm repeating stuff (though, sometimes that's good to know). Sharing the feedback of a few vapers in this post.

+ 2/3 like the drip tip. Myself included. I like the angle (though it's slightly too much curved for me) and I've always liked fluted tips. I also would by a drip tip similar to it. It's a nice additional guide to "how to hold" (rotating a tube for button/finger position) and keeps small units from rolling.
+ Everyone seems to like the light show. It sure flickers on some mods though of course :) It's also nice to "see something" on a mechanical so you know a battery is at least good.
= Flavor performance was mixed. I had one that tasted about average and another below average (to sometimes burnt even). That same unit has flow issues and needs primer draws to work properly. No unit tastes good at first, taking some time to get over a plastic taste. (Bah!)
+ No leaks (yet?)
+ Great vapor production
- Not maintainable
= Standard resistance. Works well even on tiny ego batteries.
= Draw seems about average to a little tight.

I would recommend these only if they were rebuildable. There at least if you have flow issues, you can usually tinker a little to improve that, or just try swapping out a part. Much better than chucking (or returning?) a dud.

I would definitely be interested in something of very similar design but with good maintenance options (which for me means having a way to replace the wick & coil since I only use hemp wick). I feel I get by very well with/am always satisfied by just a couple decent ~$20 rebuildable atomizers, but I might add one or two more. I think it looks particularly keen on that Smok e-Pipe, and there again with the light (as the pipe hasn't its own). That's a bundle I'd actually go for.

Thank you :)

I finally got around to trying the Sax. I am having a lot of fun with it. It capes well for me on my twist. Flavor and vapor are good and no problems with my vg. It is a little cooler than I am use to since most of my cl's are top coil. Overall a fun unit, and while it would not be an everyday due to not being able to change clean heads, I would keep a few around for special occasions. I can see a green one for St. Pats and red at Christmas.

The flavor wasn't an issue with me; it came through pretty well but then again, I order my e-liquids from one store in particular where practically all the e-liquid mixes have a custom-option as standard but at a bit of a higher cost for extra-strong flavoring (adjusted to taste so it's not too strong or too weak as too much of either can ruin a vape). Maybe this is why I didn't have the flavor issue as I ALWAYS order my standard all-day vape in extra-strong flavor.

As for the threading, this is something I'd like to see as well b/c I have knocked my e-cig over on it's side more times than I can count; it is also the reason we have so few 'glass' drinking glasses. I've knocked them over for years b/c I can't see them, particularly when they are outside of my peripheral and central vision. The only ones that have managed to stand up to this abuse, albeit with a few slight chips in a couple, are the scotch glasses I own but this is only due to the fact they're really heavy glasses. My primary regret with regards to the chips in the few is the fact that they are Waterford Crystal scotch glasses. :(

The tip itself is actually comfortable and almost natural in feel; hwr, I am almost certain this has more to do with the fact that at one time, I played tenor and alto saxophones along with the clarinet and oboe - these are all reed instruments with the same similar designed mouth-piece to this particular tank-type atty. (I used to play drums, trumpet, a few pieces on the flute, piano & guitar). It's been years since I played any of these instruments. Playing an instrument is much like kick-boxing. All of these are perishable skills. You lose it over time when you don't stick w/practicing on a regular to semi-regular basis. As with kick-boxing, you tend to forget all the proper manners to perform the moves, not to mention your body loses that elasticity that allows for the high kicks, speed, and anticipating various moves then countering them.

The tip is nice and something I hope stays with the product. I wish there were drip tips with this type of tip due to the comfort and ease it brings about when vaping. It was the number 1 redeeming quality for me; hwr, the leaking I experienced with it ruined the entire experience, I'm sad to say.

Just wanted to comment that while I understand that the tip popping off may be an issue, a better fit rather than threading would be a better solution in my opinion. With a threaded fit, you run the risk of not be able to get the angle to face the "correct" direction when screwed down fully (i.e. the one that lets you hold it without twisting your wrist in some crazy position so you both can press a button AND get it into your mouth :p).

SAX Review

Also a little late to the party but a lot of the same info that has already been posted is even further confirmed in my findings.

Pros:
No leaks as of yet
Light defiantly attracts attention
Decent Vapor Production on e-Go 3.3V

And the Biggest Pro:
Light saber Vape Fight

Cons:
Kinda Cheap feeling
Top comes off pretty easy in pocket (ZEN what?) .... this could just be me but my friend had that happen too but no leaks.
Non-Rebuild-able
If you lose the rubber topper you're done.

Personally I would probably pass as my main tank being a veteran but to new people it is very easy to use, fill and the light will attract users to it for the Light Saber Fights. Along with that it is cheap enough after a few runs if it goes bad you don't feel bad tossing it. Local shops here sell clear-o-mizers for $8-10 so in this range and get the LED could be a fun thing for a while.

Ninja Edit: Also wanted to add on my Vari cranking it up past 4.8 starts to develop burnt taste. Which even at 3 Ohm I wouldn't think this would be a problem but it could be just being mostly plastic construction?
