I doubt you could damage the metal spike by piercing it through the plastic chad. You could always go through and punch it out beforehand with a nail or something or remove it with an X-acto knife. The silicon caps are easier to remove and they create a better seal, but the plastic ones will work too. They just might increase the odds for some minor leakage. I've used both and although I prefer the silicon caps, the plastic ones are acceptable.
The Vision Eternity is a nice RBA. However, the flavor is diminished compared to the same juice being vaped in another setup. I've tried this with three different juices and I believe the flavor is more pronounced in something such as a vivi nova or clearomizer given the fact that the vapor is being produced right in front of your mouth and doesn't have to travel a longer distance, through various holes like the vision. IMO, I think it has something to do with all the holes and distance the vapor actually has to travel to get to your tongue. The vapor production is awesome though. PBusardo mentions this too, and I agree with his review. Still a nice RBA, but I wish I could get a lil more flavor out of it.
A SS wick is what I just finished setting up in the eternity and it does give a lil more flavor, but still not quite there.

actually you can break it, if your ego tank has a hard bottom do not use it or you will break the pin, it must have a soft silicone bottom on the ego tank
Back when I fooled with ego stuff, I would take a turkey injector syringe and whack it so it had a blunt tip. Then using that, to pre-punch the tank caps (both hard plastic & silicone). The diameter was spot on, and worked pretty well for me, anyway...
I put cotton wicks in mine and plugged the center air hole with paper towel as Lord Davon suggested. I haven't yet put in a ss wick, but the flavor I'm getting is pretty much exactly what I get from my Genesis using ss mesh.

There are air holes further up the tube, can't see them but it seems to be two more up there. Yeah, he made the suggestion in his review video, he said it fixes the flavor issue, but not the coolness that people are reporting. I just know it worked for me... For those with doubts concerning the air flow, plug the hole with a toothpick then draw on it, you'll see there's still plenty of air coming in.
Is there an ETA on restock on these? Or was that already mentioned before, and I'm just too lazy to look for it? Curious monkey wants to know.

I just got one of these and it leaks right out of the box with 30 drops. Cannot figure out why but it does leak like a sieve! By the time it stopped leaking I had about 30 puffs left in it. I tried to refill but they started leaking immediately. I guess I can just mark it up as a learning experience. I hope they improve the design because they are sharp looking devices!
No it is sitting upright on my box PV. I found the problem. The wick is just dripping the fluid straight down the center air hole. If I plug that it doesn't leak but I also cannot take a hit with no air lol
Tilt it when filling and the juice will run down the holes around the spike instead of through the middle.
I tried that after badkolo asked. It seemed to work for a couple minutes but as soon as the wick was saturated it started leaking. If I constantly hit it I have no problem but as soon as I let it sit for 4-5 minutes it starts to leak...
Edit... So I found that as long as I do not set it upright and put no more then 5-10 drops in it when its empty it does not leak... but hey it looks pretty as long as I don't hold it up to show anyone lol
Edit... Well it seems to still leak at an angle. I just tried with a new one out of box and it has to be completely on its side. At an angle it still leaks unless I hold it horizontal. Thankfully the place I bought it told me they have a 14 day no questions asked return policy lol. I am going to fool around with it for another day or 2 and probably ship it back

You may try arching the coil up & away from the air tube. It should keep juice from pooling in the coiled section & dripping down the tube.
The problem may lie in it being a knock off.....I know there are some out there already....and your last edit tells me you didn't get it at GV (which I know are authentic Visions). I have had no issues with any leaking while upright...with 25 large drops on first fill followed by anywhere from 15 to 20 depending on how empty I vape it.
My eternity gets warm pretty quickly, but doesn't leak. That's the only problem I've had so far.
