Great work WallyO, thanks for the pic. Down at the bottom end what do you see? My oldest 2 are beginning to leak out the post hole, a small bit. I can't see up close enough to figger it out. Maybe it's just wear and tear. Can't complain, they're been great far as I'm concerned.

Let's see if these come up with better detail.
Njt07 is correct Dodari. Only two ways to leak at the base. Through the top of the air tube or the seal at the base is shot.

One very intersting point is the wick. There is a small wick which goes down the tank and it is threaded through a wick sleeve.

I agree with the both of y'all on the leaking. I'm guessing the bottom seal after seeing these excellent pics. Pics #3 and #4 very very helpful. Great work!! I wanted to do what you actually did, but my old Dreml's front bearing/bushing is shot and it chatters and wobbles pretty badly. Better get a new one I think. Really very good and informative pics. The wick thing you mention is interesting quite. Still and all, even the 2 leaking are only slightly doing so and aren't to the objectionable stage yet. Really do like these units.

Thank you.

Is anyone having trouble filling these? Every time I try I can only fill the top then it floods. I'm sticking my syringe down as far as I can in multiple places but still I can only get .25 ml in at the time before it flood.

I use a 18 ga needle on my syringe and go deep so that I'm able to fill to about 1.4 ml....no problem...hope this helps.

I guess I'll stick with dripping till my next order.

If you have any of the longer silicone cart caps you can also fill those with juice and slowly push the stallion down into the cap to force the juice inside the cart. You may have to blow it out slightly arfterward to get any juice out of the airtube.

Anybody had any issues with their Stallions running hot? I'm on my first one (pre-punched SS) using it in a Phiniac on my Provari at 3.6 - 3.9 volts and it heats up really fast. So fast that I have to stop vaping and sit it down after a few good drags or it'll burn my lips. I'm using a short glass drip tip (about 1").

I also punched an extra hole of the same size (total of 3) and it still doesn't seem to be wicking very well.

I found that plastic drip tips are best. The glass and metal transfer the heat to your lips.

As for the Pre Punched Stainless. I am not thrilled with them. When I was stripping the old black ones, I was cutting two huge slots in them with my dremel. I tried a PP stainless yesterday, didn't feed well. I tried slotting the holes and it still didn't work well.

I will try slotting one of the plain stainless non punched this weekend.

I sure hope they didn't change something internally on this newest batch of Stallions.

Please keep us posted on how it goes. It would seem it's not wicking well? If you slot these like you did the old ones does it get OK? I'm panicked, I ordered a bunch of these. Might get here today. I don't want them if they're crap.

Thanks

Keep in mind, this is only one. It didn't appear to wick well after slotting. However I have had a couple from the very first batch that were bunk as well. I will slot some of the non punched this weekend and report back.

OK, am definitely interested in what you find, and what you find to remedy if necessary.

Yes a clunker now and then seems to be the norm, to be expected. Just not many, hopefully.

The heck of it for me is I ordered just the PP SS, so I can't try just the SS plain at this time. I'm hoping you find the PP SS better, with the others you have of the new ones.

Ach, the wife just brought in the PP SS that we ordered. Now I'm afraid to open the box.

Time will tell, I guess?

So I tried another PP Stainless with Flux Grape. Just does not seem to wick fast enough.

I Double slotted a non punched stainless, and it appears to be working well. My slots are a good 2 mm higher on the carto in relation to the the PP ones.

I may try to do a vertical slot on a PP one. From the hole up. See what that yields.

I hope they wick like the others. now that would be a disappointment. I did notice the pp holes are to low and will not work with the raven tank, you cannot push the carto all the way into the tank, the bottom by the 510 connector is wider. I will just have to punch a few higher holes with my carto punch. Little disappointing, but I can live with it. I'm just glad the wrapper is off, that was a pain. I haven't filled one yet still using the old batch, I will tonight after work.

Wondering what pg/vg your Flux Grape is, also is it a dark fluid? They say dark ones load up the wicking faster. My home made juice is pretty dark and does seem to clog things faster. I try to use higher vg due to allergy.

I'm glad to hear the double slotting helps. Your 2mm higher than the punched holes is about 1-1/4 16ths of an inch. Very helpful info, thank you for that. About how deep do you dare slot? Worried about the filler stuff. You're way ahead of me on this and I know you've really worked on these. Much appreciate the helpful info. Kind of like being a pioneer in a new frontier really.

When you try the vertical slotting I'm really curious how that will turn out. I've wanted to try that for some time. Finally got a newer dremel with good bearings in it, my old one was chattering badly, must be 10 years old with a lot of hard use. The old dremel just beat things up too much to try it.

Thank you.
