Hi Folks we appear to have a problem over here in Europe with the Lux Buttons

Any thoughts or ideas ?

Don't polish your Paps Lux button

Thanks for posting this, I'm picking mine up at the post office today and will be very gentle with the switch!

From what I read, and I only skimmed it b/c I was driving, it appears as though they were referring to the contacts inside the switch and not the button itself.

This was addressed a few posts back when I was wanting to polish the Lux tube. I only wiped off the contacts with mild detergent; I used nothing abrasive.

Apologies if I read the posts wrong, but it appeared they were attempting to polish the internals.

U didn't have to. Would've solved if u had dismantled the switch and refitted it with the internal locking nut placed reversed.

How do you disassemble the switch? I can't figure out how to get the black ring off.

Remove switch from GP..

Remove center nut::reverse threads::using these

The result. The button and spring will fall loose after removing the nut IF your finger doesn't hold it in place

Separate the locking ring from the switch housing. Unscrews fully in the same direction as locking the device

I use a tiny pin to insert under the "black ring"

Carefully "pry" up and the sleeve and viola!

I worked mine from both directions and had zero issues removing. I only did this to install the switch upgrade.
