Good morning, Reonauts! I am experiencing my first issue with my Grand. I am not gettinv a consistant fire when I push the button. Sometimes it is fine, sometimes I have to wiggle it, sometimes I have to really mash it hard. I have cleaned it (with hot tap water) reapplied noalox, and am ready to disassemble to see if I can see anything wrong. Before I take such desperate measures, does anyone have any suggestions? TIA!

It is pre-owned from the classies, I've had it for a couple of months. I think it is an early model, as it has an allen screw for the spring. This is the first time with any problem.

Yes, I have changed batteries and atties to rule that out. I guess I get to play mechanic. It's probably better than playing electronic engjneer!

Hi Calsax :)
Okay...here's a few suggestions.
Use an emery board or fine grit sand paper and clean off the tip of the positive battery contact on the mod and the button top on the battery. wipe clean with alcohol and see if that helps.

Take a look at the spring to see if there is any discoloration on it.

Remove the battery & atty...grab the tube as close to the top as possible and gently push up...it shouldn't move much. Then reattach the atty and firm it down without applying too much torque.

Keep us posted. :)

Worst case, call Rob. It may just need a tune up. :)

Im have a slightly different issue with mine. After a few pushes in the on postion it too easily turns enough to be in the off position. I would have thought the on/off button would be a permanent locking CLICK and not just a turn motion. I gotta be honest and say I never been a metal REO fan but since I needed a 18650 REO while waiting for Rob to get healthy and back to wood shucking plus the new button top I decided to get one. I don't see be keeping it once I get the Woodvil I want. ;)
