We were heading out on a fishing trip. Was about a half hour out of port when we spotted it maybe a couple miles off the stern. Was still close enough that we could see the spray it kicked up at the surface. Just glad that is was going in a different direction than we were. It was off the west coast of Okinawa about 6 or 7 years ago.

I wonder if the fishing is better or worse when things like that are close to them? I bet it would be fun to be a sea creature under the sea and watch hurricanes and spots running across the top of the water.

Carolina Vapoor, I knew you would be a Mech convert once you got into it. =) so muuuch to loooove about mechs. That is a very nice prize package. The 26650 will make you happy.

Lucky guy to have a paid off home. Time to take a little cash out, rent that house out and then buy another main house to live in with a 3% down payment. have the rent from the other house pay his new house. Two house owner, BAM! lol

Rj reynolds....they want all the pie and all the cake. they want to eat and make us pay for it. But they also want to order a few 2 pound lobsters to take home to genny lol. (Sopranos reference) Greedy people.

And does anyone really trust them with the ingredients for their liquids? After the :censored: they pulled with cigarettes?

You know the interesting thing I find with cigarettes and big tobacco is this. Nicotine is highly addictive. They have a product additive that is recognized, allowed and accepted. It is all they really need to bring you back again and again once you choose a cigarette as your nicotine delivery system. Why they add the extras is beyond me.

Look at coca cola. its highly addictive ingredient is illegal and banned as a schedule 1 drug. They still have a really decent tasting product and addict you through sugar and HFCS now, but still, that fails in addiction comparison to ........

I am not sure what else they can legally add to vape liquid that can make it any more habit forming than nicotine, nor can I see any reason they would have to. But like you said, do I trust them to not add other stuff? lol uhmmm No. no i do not trust them to be even remotely concerned with people who use their products. And also like was pointed out before from Carolina Vapoor, most people on the whole will believe the news and trust them as an established company to protect them...even though the products they sell are known by the entire world to kill you, slowly, but still kill you.

Reflecting on all of this it just crossed my mind to say this. I honestly don't think most people will even care if in the end vaping turns out to be worse or better for their health. People do all kinds of counter productive things and pay good money to do it. Sky diving, bungee jumping, smoking, drinking, drugs, enlist to fight in wars, drive to fast, road rage and all sorts of other 7 deadly sins type items. But you are correct, no we shouldn't trust them, but yes, most will because they have a huge presence and the fact that everyone knows they sell death and doesn't care seems to tell me they will most likely squash all competition that does not have a huge foothold in the industry already.

It will all play out and unfold soon enough though.

Yeah, I just got coupons in the mail today from them to get the Vuse and the refills free... not going to happen. I don't trust them and why would I want to vape a cig. flavor when I have a whole rainbow of flavors that are good, and I know what is in them! No cigalikes for me plus they want to ban all other types of vaping stuff besides their own.

Get the free stuff and toss it. They will work hard to remove the rainbow of flavors from the market place. Learn to DIY soon. Greedy big companies as usual. Do not want anyone else to even eek out a meager living.

Not me..lol. As a matter of fact I don't see how anyone in their right mind would.

When I first started vaping I ordered sample after sample of tobacco flavors. I was in the mind set that the only way I would stay off of analogs is if I could find something that tasted very close to the analogs that I smoked. I smoked "Reds" and believe it or not I loved the taste of the tobacco  After going through several samples of tobacco flavored juices, none of which I could vape longer than 10 minutes I was about done. Fortunately EC Blends had sent me a free sample of "Dragons Blood" with an order I had placed with them. I tried it as a last resort and loved it. It was my ADV for over a year!

At that point my eyes were opened to the wonderful world of all the different juice flavors. Like you said why would I want a single cig. flavor with vast amount of juice flavors available to us now.

That is exactly where Vape excels. You cant replace smoking with vaping. it is not the same thing. It is just another way to enjoy your time. The things that smoking cant offer is exactly what vape can, and what vape cant offer is the exact reason to start vaping lol. It is just a lifestyle change.

People on diets always trying to replace sugar with veggies. well guess what, veggies are not ever going to taste like sugar. You eat veggies for a different kind of fulfillment. I see vaping and smoking in the same light. Both just provide different ways to enjoy your time. I just do not like them trying to take away my choices of what i want in my life when what I want does not infringe on my kids or neighbors.

makes my blood boil. The entire argument is about control of what we have access too. And they hide behind children. Yet god forbid you can order the smut channel from your cable box without knowing who ordered or how old they are. Should we remove the internet since you can buy pornography or even see it free? Should we remove all booze because people can get fake ids. or maybe we should put chips in the hand so we can have for sure control of our citizens. you can remove prayer from classrooms even though all the commandments if you follow them make a good person even if you did not believe in God, if you just made the rules part of who you are you do not need rules to regulate you because you self regulate and watch out for your neighbor.

Maybe it is time for the boycotts to make a comeback. Start removing all companies off the landscape that have the ability to change laws for the worse and decide to do so.

So very true. All we can do is stay in the loop via CASAA and other online resources and continue to respond to any and all Calls to Action.

Time to call to action a boycott from their entire customer base for as long as it takes to bankrupt them.

Boycotts aren't used anymore because they don't work anymore. The mega corporations have enough money to bombard news outlets with fake news and reports and get enough people thinking they're not so bad. Even without that, many people don't think much beyond their own existence and daily lives. That's why there is always a hue and cry whenever something gets passed or approved. I recently heard a story about a teenage girl who was upset about approved plans to develop a forested area near her home and she climbed into a tree in an attempt to stop it. Where was she during the permitting process? Most developments these days take years to plan and go through rounds of approval hearings. THAT is when people need to take action. Sadly, most can't be bothered to worry about it.

The way those things churn up the water I think the fishes go deep when they get too close. Anything near the surface would get a better ride than what any amusement park has to offer - I remember being caught in waves a few times after surfing wipeouts. I'm too busted up now days to be doing that any more.

You are 100% correct. In my city every business cries about how unfair the sign ordnance is, and it is extremely unfair. I was one of three business owners who showed up for the planning commission workshop to give our views on the issue at hand since they are taking public opinion about what we think is fair, before they rewrite the sign code to go before the city council for a vote to amend old laws and add in new ones. Blew my mind that no one even cared to show up to a venue where they could actually have a real impact on the issue we all cry about in my city.

You just gave me a new goal. I want to be as big as the corporations you mentioned who have such deep pockets they just buy news channels and public opinion.. i guess till that day comes I will just have to win people over with great service, fair prices and give you an experience worth coming back for. =)

Only surfing I've done was here in Okinawa. No injuries from that except for a few cuts and bruises - all fairly minor.
My being a bit busted up comes from other activities - 20 years in the Marines.
A couple parts rearranged/rebuilt and a bit of hardware holding it together.

I've womped (shorebreak bodysurfing--can break your neck if you don't know what you're doing) on a couple of beaches on the big island of Hawaii, but my surfing is done locally. I mostly gave up boardsurfing in high school (with the exception of a wickedly hollow reef that a friend of mine and I resurrected as a surfspot) and bodysurf at some local breaks that are no-board zones. Here's a pic taken at one of the two breaks (that's not me):
