I did a little digging to see what I could find on Capella's Vanilla Custard and managed to pull this from another forum. Apparently Tom, from Capella's, sent a sample of their Vanilla Custard to a lab to have it tested and analyzed due to the questions from the vaping community regarding Diacetyl's presence (the company is ABC - Advanced Botanical Consulting).
The guy that posted it mentioned speaking to a chemist that worked on energy drinks to see if the report was anything to be concerned about, given the result was < .4% and he said that from speaking to him, those are the tolerances that chemists work in and that result indicates that Diacetyl is not present, otherwise it'd show > .4% with the < or > being the key indicator.
I've attached a screenshot of the report below to confirm this. That said, I'm not a chemist, nor do I claim to be one. Just as the above is second-hand info, so is this and the information above. Take it for what it's worth and make your own decisions as to whether you want to use it or not. Personally, I've felt no ill effects, but that doesn't mean there's none. I do, however, feel that I'm exposed to far worse walking outdoors than I do adding a % to my e-liquid.

I've tried dozens of recipes and in the end I've stopped using Capella's and gone to Flavor West. IMO it's much better. I also tried a few recipes using the DDL as a secondary flavor and personally don't care for it. I've tried using Graham Cracker Crust, Cookie, Vanilla Cupcake, Vienna Cream, Eggnog and Butter in various combinations and in the end, this is my favorite recipe. So I made the recipe with 15% VC, 2% DDL and 2% sweetener and had it on 30 cycles on my 8-minute UC. I also steeped it for another 2 weeks. The end result was a creamy flavor however I can taste some sour flavor - perhaps from the Dulce de Leche? The overall flavor is still very mild to me.

FW Vanilla Custard 18%
EM 1%
That's it. Plain and simple.
You will love it. I would suggest increasing the VC to at least 15% though. Only takes about three days of steeping so you could wait, try it out, and then decide if you want more flavor.I just whipped up a batch with
FW Vanilla Custard 12%
FA Vienna Cream 1%
I'm sure it will be![]()

What else can you mix vanilla custard with? I was thinking with a nice yellow cake or some fruit any suggestions?

I like VC mixed with Capella's Graham Cracker ... both @ 8%, with 1.5% EM and .5% AP. Yum, yum ...![]()
I've not tried Capella's GC yet. How would you compare it to TFA's Graham Cracker (Clear)?
No clue; haven't tried TFA. I do like the Capella's, though.
Another combo you might like is Capella Chocolate Fudge Brownie with the Graham Cracker (or the VC!). Capella's CFB is the most realistic brownie I've tasted to date; at about 8% with 1.5% EM and .5% AP, it's spot on. In higher concentrations (e.g., 15%), it takes on that taste of the slightly burnt edge on a corner piece ... still yummy, but different.

I can appreciate wanting to give someone/vendor the benefit of the doubt...but almost 1/2 percent of anything is not 'a tolerance' to be trivialized...it's a measured amount of a very harmful chemical (that may be inhaled more directly & deeply than those working in popcorn factories)
Whatever is in it...it acts like diacetyl, scorches/irritates our lungs like diacetyl, and tastes like everything else we've tasted with diacetyl. And there's a LOT of ECFers that can't vape it (or can only vape it in very small quantities).
