So my work Reo was looking a little worn so I stripped and sanded until it was buttery smooth a couple of weeks ago. I've washed it a few times since but, now everyday after a couple of hours at work my hand is Gray from the aluminum rubbing off. Is there a way to stop this besides painting?
You can polish the mod

I stripped my emerald green Grand and it does the same thing. You could buff it and clear coat it, but I am actually digging the kind of rugged patina that it is developing. It's my daily driver when I am at work and getting dirty and beat up anyway. It's starting to look like something out of Mad Max.

That's me pesky. I really love the way it is looking. Just wish it didn't rub off.

Oh I didn't process your original post correctly. You are actually getting aluminum rubbing off on your fingers? I have not experienced that at all. I just get a greying where my fingers hit on the mod itself, but not on my fingers. I took the finish on mine up to 1500 I think, but it has since been rattling around in a cup holder, dropped, and maybe used to open a bottle or two (I cannot confirm or deny the latter).

If I was getting oxidation on my hands, I would throw it on a buffer and then put a single coat of rattle-can clear coat on it. That would protect the finish and prevent your fingers from turning grey. If you could get it anodized, it would also achieve the same effect.
