Why not use sterile cotton balls or sterile rolled cotton and skip the boiling.
Peaches & cream cotton yarn works very well too. IMO, one of the easiest to use of any wicking materials used in rebuilding.

I've heard that sterile cotton had hydrogen peroxide in it, not sure as Iam new to all this. I agree the cotton yarn works better. I have some 'Sugar and Cream' from hobby lobby, is it as good as Peaches and Cream?

Boiling organic cotton is pointless, it's grown without pesticides and bleached using hydrogen peroxide which breaks down to water and oxygen.

Using sterile cotton in preference to organic means you are likely consuming a cocktail of chemicals. Sterile means no bacteria, not no chemicals.

Lastly, boiling does not remove chemicals it just cooks them a bit and dilutes them.

I boil them, tamp them out, and put them on a toaster oven sheet and then bake on keep warm for an hour or two.

Tada!

And no thanks to air drying either. Could easily introduce mold or something else after they sit sopping wet somewhere.
