Hey all! YAY! I see the REO mini woodvil holders now! Do they come in the lanyard style? Didn't see that option on the site but maybe didn't look close enough.

Also, wanted to share something that works really well. I noticed that there were some comments about the lanyard kinda sitting away from you when you're wearing it. That happened with my REO Grand and regular minis and I just changed the way that I wear the lanyard, took care of that problem and it actually hugs close to my body now.

Instead of wearing the knot of the lanyard at the back of my neck like you would a necklace clasp, wear it with the knot against the holder. You do that by pulling the lanyard cord from the inside and that pulls the knot up against the back of the holder and the lanyard cord is coming UP out of the holder instead of from the back of the holder.

Make sense? By doing it that way, it actually tilts the holder back towards you instead of away from you. :)

Now, about the lanyard holder for the REO mini woodvil, we got those?

I don't yet have measurements for the juice windows on the Woodvil mods, so I haven't added them as a lanyard option yet. I do have forms for them, though, so as soon as I know exactly where to put the squonk-holes, I'll add them as an option.

All of the current style lanyards do have the cords knotted from the holes in the lanyard as you described and that does seem to help with the balance issues, along with having the holes on opposite sides rather than on the back as the older lanyards did.

The tipping issue is also due to having a tank on top - the new style lanyards are pretty lightweight so the tanks make them very top heavy.

Is it possible to place an order for a "custom version" of the Special Edition open top holster with just a small, sturdy loop sewn across the back of the holster straps so I can then add my own key ring/lobster clasp? (I'm choosy on these two things and already have a set up I could use). If so, I'd really like to order one - so nice! Thanks for the reply :)

I might be able to add a horizontal loop onto the back of an open-top holster, but I'll need to test that since there isn't a whole lot of room to work with from side to side.

The way I'm planning to add the D-rings or swivel clasps, the leather loop will run parallel to the sides and the flat part of the ring will be parallel to the top of the holster since there's a bit more room for it running in that direction. I'll try to get a prototype worked up this week and will post a photo.

Thanks Griffin. I'll look forward to the pictures. Have a great week.

Finally got my provari to put in my holster lol. The extra 1.5" to the strap fit my tank perfectly and the craftsmanship is excellent. One change I would make is to move the clip up about 2" so the top of the pv doesn't hang away from the wearer's body.

The holster above must be pretty tall with the tank attatched. I just got my Provari chrome with 18650 cap extension and a Big Daddy tank. I was thinking If I could have flip top made so the pv sits parallel to my belt as it would get in the way when I sit in a car. A swivel clip would work with your flip top holster but I'm not sure if you have that type of clip or you could have a belt loop placed on the back just big enough to slip the metal spring clip so the pv sits horizontally? Also is it possible to have a separate open top holster with individual compartments for two Big Daddy tanks with it's on metal spring clip made? It's getting to where I almost have a police utility belt with my iphone, sunglass case, and now a pv and tanks .

The only swivel clips that I've been able to find are fairly expensive at about $7 each, only sold in bulk, and not really designed for being attached to leather. I probably could put together something to make a flip-top case sit sideways, but I wouldn't recommend it.

There's definitely a need for a different style of holster that will accomodate tank systems better than my current offerings and I have tried a few ideas but have not come up with anything that I think works particularly well, so far. The drop holsters are probably best suited to mods with tank systems, but they're still not perfect and have to be removed before you sit down.

I could certainly put together a specialty case to hold accessories, but the cost to design and produce one unit would probably be prohibitive.

Sweet pic dogtownvapster! Tall!!! Does the leather strap in the front just slide through the loop? I'm thinking if there were a sturdy snap for the strap under the loop - I could thread a key ring through at the top of the straps then attach a lobster claw - no sweat on going mobile and keeping it upright - again from the side of my purse. Thanks for posting. Beautiful holster that's for sure.

I tried doing a few holsters with snaps but the problem is that it puts the metal backing of the snap into contact with the mod which I don't like. That's actually been a problem with a few different designs I've tested and is the current holdup with the "flex-holster" that I'm working on - I don't want any metal touching the mod where it might cause scratches or even minor wear from rubbing together.

OK could you make a horizontal flip top case like this. I had this case made by a local company that makes various gun holsters, badge wallets for law enforcement. I had it made to fit my Iphone with an Otterbox defender case. I placed my Provari in it to just give you an idea what I want, of course the height would be shortened to fit just the Provari. It would sit loosely in the case and squared off like this case. The thick backing probably has to be extended above beyond the case to accommodate a spring clip. You could use velcro or magnets to secure the flap. It could have scalloped section at the top to have an atty rest on so it could be easily pulled out with an atty attatched, along with a hole at the bottom to fit a finger in aid of removal. This has a round hole on the bottom to push up my phone out of the case with my finger and a leather loop on the top with a D ring to secure with a chain and strap to my belt. The extra hole on this case is for the headphone jack.

I'm afraid this is another case where, by the time I worked up a pattern and got the fit just right, the cost would probably be prohibitive.

I'm sure there are leatherworkers out there who could eyeball it and then sit down and make a perfect one in just a few hours but, unfortunately, I'm not one of those guys. :(

That's ok, I ordered your standard flip top with metal spring clip in acorn brown, which should look and work great.

Received the black lanyard for Provari with standard caps and used the lanyard for two weeks. It's perfect. The fit is 100%; easy to get the Provari out of the lanyard, but snug enough that Provari doesn't fall out if the lanyard by accident gets upside down. Quality of the material/work is outstanding. Just perfect. Thanks Griffin for such a great product, I'm verry happy with it and use the lanyard every day.

And for using the Provari with a tank? No problem, Provari and tank stay balanced if you put something like a small elastic hairthingy for ponytails, or something like that, around the tank with both ends the neckcord put trough it; is easy done and easy removed.

Hey Tim, I'm assuming my GLV XL 3.7v will be shipped shortly....being that the parts for it werent ready as planned, and I know Jay n Sarah wanted to try to get everyone's out (first run) before the holidays, I don't expect it to arrive before Xmas....Once it does though, I'll have to bring it by for you to measure out in case someone wants a holster made for it (I know I will heehee)...

Sounds good - shouldn't be any trouble to extend the length if that's the only difference.
