Hi Folks!

SerenityGear.com has been updated with new specials - here are some of the more unique additions:

Ordering options have been added for some newer mods including the Bolt, GLV-XL and GLV-XL Mini, Mantis, and all Saber Touch variations are now in place. A specialty holster for the GG telescopic is being tested (the initial report is good!) and should be available for ordering soon.

I've also changed the way that I make my Saber Touch holsters so that the mod won't rattle around so much (they extend far enough to enclose both caps now - see photos above) and I've been playing around with some "full coverage" lanyards that might work a little better for mods with tank systems.

I just ordered a Saber Touch. I was referred to your site for a holster. While looking at the ones with the flap, I did have a question. I understand that you position the MOD so that the button is on the side of the holster. But on the Saber Touch, you have to touch the sensor AND an end cap in order for it to fire. Can you tell me how one vapes a Saber Touch without taking it out of the holster? Thanks!!

Great Looking items by the way!!!!!

That would really only apply to lanyards and I don't yet have a lanyard solution for the Saber Touch models for exactly the reason you mention.

The only ideas I've been able to come up with, so far, basically amount to winding a cord or narrow strap tightly around the mod under the top cap and then attaching a lanyard to that - and that's something that anyone could easily make for themselves for less than a dollar. Something with narrow saddle clamps might work well too and would likely be just as inexpensive, if you can find the right size clamps.

For my regular belt holsters, the intention is for you to remove the mod from the holster before using it.

Thanks Griffin for the quick reply. I understand what you're saying. I don't really want to have to take it in and out only for the sole purpose of ruining the finish from it rubbing in and out all the time. That is why I was wondering if it was able to be left in and vape from there. Have you heard of any MOD's getting abused from taking in and out of the holster, like the finish wearing away?

What about if you were to attach a lanyard to the open top holster for the saber? From the pictures, it looks like enough of the top is showing so that one would be able to touch the sensor AND the top end cap while it is still inside the holster. Maybe you could make one where the lanyard could come off so if one wanted to use it on the hip OR around the neck, they have the option of removing the lanyard. Just some ideas. My mind is going crazy!!!! lol

I haven't received any reports of wear to mods from keeping them in holsters and I really don't think that's too likely to happen. Any mod with a finish so flawed that it would be damaged by carrying the mod around in a leather holster, which is relatively soft, would probably get just as much damage, if not more, just from normal handling.

The open-top holster as a lanyard is, essentially, the same as my tube lanyards. Either would probably work for using the Saber Touch while inside if I punched a hole into the body so that you could access the button, but it would definitely be awkward to use due to the button being so far inside the holster and only the very top of the upper cap being accessible for completing the circuit.

Hey Griff...I was looking at your site in the gallery at the Saber Touch pictures. I was looking at this pic http://serenitygear.com/images/gallery/newsaberholsters_thumb.jpg
What I was thinking was what if you cut the top down on the one on the right so that the button was exposed? This was the entire button AND the top cap would be exposed to vape. I don't know if this would leave enough room for a belt clip. And I was thinking maybe making holes and reinforcing them on the top sides to you can use a lanyard if one chose to. I know I am a pain in the ... but I am just thinking of some ideas. Hope ya don't mind! Thanks!!

That's basically how my old Saber Touch holsters were made and I can certainly make one that way for you if you'd like.

I changed them because I didn't like the way the mod rattled around in the old holsters (due to the caps being so much larger than the body).

I think a flip top holster done in the Tiki stamp for a Precise Plus 18650 would be something I might like. How much would that run?

I'm not taking custom orders for detailed tooling like the Tiki lanyards because it's just too time consuming, sorry! :(

The Lavatube is getting very popular. You might consider making one for it. It's quite possible that something you are already making will work, but it's not listed in the dropdown on your website.

I have had a lot of request for Lavatube holsters lately and the only reason they're not already on the site is because I'm concerned about how they will fit due to the "nubs" on the bottom cap.

I did, just now, put in an order for a Lavatube, though, so I will have it on the site as soon as I can get some samples made up to test the fit.

Yeah not too sure if I want it wobbling around either. Well hopefully we can come up with some kind of way to keep the Saber in the holster, be able to vape without taking it out, have the option to add a lanyard to it and still have that awesome craftsmanship and look that your items have!

Bristow, Ok.
Stormynights theGGTS holder is on the site SerenityGear Leather - Specialty Holsters Griffen we must have been posting at the same time
I need a taller case that will fit with my UFS on top, also I like the look of the first pictures you posted with the two straps over the top. Is this possible? Also could it be made with a long lanyard that can be worn across the body? I drop my GG pretty often and I want extra protection. I do love your designs.

I can currently make them up to 5 1/2 inches tall though I haven't yet tried to make one as a flip-top. When I get caught up on orders I'll give that a try and will post some pictures if I can make it work.

My GG setup is 6 3/4 to the top of the mouth piece and 6 inches to the mouthpiece. I do hope this can be made.
