I received an email from Groupon yesterday and one of the offered deals was for South Beach deluxe kit.
Nothing special about this wonky cheap kit but what caught my attention is that it's been sold out in 3.5 hours.
The sticker said "Over 1000 bought", have no idea about the actual number sold but it could be 2-5-10000.

The point is that smokers are desperate and willing to quit with whatever and also shows the lack of advertisements from "good" vendors so people jump on whatever comes there way.

One of the antis I follow on Facebook (I think it was a state ALA org) angrily denounced Groupon in January because they had a 'New Years Resolutions'deal for an electronic cigarette package. I responded to the protest with multiple links to deals on cigars that Groupon has offered in the past. That shut them up pretty quickly.

Myself and others on the We Are CASAA Facebook page sent messages thanking Groupon for supporting e-cigs, and asking that they disregard any e-mails they receive bemoaning the e-cig deal as that of foaming at the mouth prohibitionists.

Elaine and I both received a response, and it wasn't a canned reply either.

Mine:

Hey Gregory,

We're glad to support a great resolution! :)

Take care,

If it weren't for that Groupon offer many months ago, I'd probably still be using analogs. Granted, the company (whose products I no long use) sold out almost immediately, and I had to wait several weeks for my starter kit. However, the offer gave me a low-risk intro to the world of vaping when I was too overwhelmed and under-informed to try & sort it out and place and order anywhere. I will be forever appreciative of that.

The larger our numbers grow, the more difficult it will be for the powers-that-be to persecute us. Positive news stories, advertising, and things like Groupon help our numbers grow.

But don't forget that the most powerful tool we have to build our ranks is word of mouth. I met with a financial planner today who asked me if I am still working. I explained that I am retired, but volunteer full time for a non-profit organization that helps smokers escape from inhaling all the nasty stuff along with their nicotine. I pulled out my e-cig pouch and proceeded to demonstrate the Joye 510-tank. He got very excited. He has been trying to get his mom to quit for years and years and thinks that this might be the thing that could help her.
