Hi All

I am relatively new to the whole vaping thing. I was a pack a day smoker and then one day I bought a blue disposable. I used it for a day or so and didn't smoke, so I decided to pick up their starter kit at Walgreens. It has been five months now and I have not smoked a single 'traditional' cig. E-cigs have truly been a life saver for me. That being said, I didn't feel I was getting the optimal experience with my blu.

So, a few weeks ago I got the prosmoke. Absolute garbage, even compared to the blu. I got a few good drags out of a new cartridge and then NO VAPOR! I am returning it for a full refund under the 30 day return policy.

Before I even ordered the prosmoke I bought a Groupon for South Beach Smoke deluxe starter kit. It was like $30 or something, so I figured why not? The kit came with 15 cartos and I figured that it would cost me at least $30 for 15 Blu cartos and I would get to try the South Beach for free.

Ok, so I rambled a bit. Here is what I liked and dislike about each of them. Hopefully, that will give you all a better idea of what I may be looking for.

The Blu

What I like about Blu.

1) Convenience - They sell the cartos at Walgreens. I can go on vacation or travel for work and I know refills are not far away. My biggest fear is that I will find myself without an Ecig and buy a pack of Marlboro Lights.

2) Charging Case - The battery life on the Blu is poor to say the least BUT I do love the portable charging case. I have never found myself with a dead ecig as long as I have that case. Although it is slightly annoying to switch batteries between cartridge and charger all the time.

3) Size - I like the size of the Blu. I know I do not want some big cigar like 'device' in my pocket. I like the small size because I can slip it out in a bar, at work, etc and take a puff without drawing too much attention.

Now, what I don't like about the Blu.

1) Vapor - I have found that for some reason the menthol flavor is the only one that delivers a decent drag (I am still very interested in an explanation for this, maybe PG/VG?). Vanilla, Cheery, tobacco... all very poor amounts of vapor. Overall, Blu delivers a decent drag for the first 50 or so puffs, then it goes downhill fast.

2) Flavours - Like I said, the only one that gives a good drag is menthol, and I am tired of menthol! Its been four months of menthol for God's sake!

3) Cost - Buying Cartos at Walgreens costs me about $3/day, give or take. Online, about $2/day. I use about 1 carto/day.

ProSmoke

Absolute Trash. I did like the chocolate flavour though.

South Beach

So far, it is the best of the three. Delivers more vapor than Blu and has more flavours (I have only tried menthol). It seems like the cartos are pretty expensive, although so far it seems they last longer than the Blu? I can't say much about it though because I have only been using it for a couple days. It took them 4 weeks to get it to me! They said it was because they got so many Groupon orders.

I will say, of the three I like the South Beach the most BUT I need to order a portable charging case separately. Again, that is a must for me.

Overall, I want a small ecig and a portable charging case. Those are my two must haves. I would also like a broad selection of flavours. Perhaps, there is small ecig that allows you to refill or delivers blank cartos?

Also, I am not totally sold on the two piece design. I am not against the three piece. Although my one experience with that has been very bad (Prosmoke).

Advice, comments, suggestions, criticisms, experiences, etc. PLEASE!!

The standard 650 mah ego type battery isn't any longer than the batteries you currently have. Just slightly fatter.

You get approximately 1 hour per 100 mah of continous vaping. On the mini, that's around 3 hours and a larger battery, that's about 7+ and above. Additionally, you can use lower resistance cartomizers on larger batteries and get a warmer, better vape.

Artt gave you a good suggestion!

I kind of went the same route as you - only been at this for 2 months now. My advice is to just skip over the cig-look-alikes, they really won't satisfy you and when you move up to an ego-style device, you'll wonder why you didn't do it before.

I have an ego-c twist and vision spinner with vivi mini nova heads and honestly, it may seem like a huge device from youtube videos, etc. but it's really not that big and you don't have to hassle with charging on those little e-cigs all the time.

I started with ProSmoke too and what a waste of money, it leaked everywhere and the vapor production was absolute garbage - if you want to go with a cig look alike, then get a volt from smokelessimage.com - I have one of their starter kits and I keep it in the car in case my ego dies while I'm out.

The Volt is by far the very best 808D (cig look alike) out there, you won't regret that purchase but again just go to the ego style devices, it's inevitable.

BTW - prosmoke wont refund the cost of the cartos even if they are unopened.

 Just realized SIZE was a problem for you... in that case I recommend the "Elite" system..... it's a very elegant cig-sized system.... if you like the blu then you'll fall madly in love with this!
ELITE 808 (ALL NEW) - If you select higher nic strength tobacco flavored juices you should be all set :)

UNLESS you're willing to re-think that SIZE issue... because in the PV World "Bigger batteries and carts" means less muss & fuss, you can just 'vape as you go' about your day

I'll give you the same recommendation I give everybody, because this is what worked for me...I'm a former 510 system user. (Well, I'm a former every vaping system available user.... :)

My vaping tastes have evolved radically over the past few years but I've found the "GO-GO" Starter Kit a good bet for the following reasons;

IF you're SICK of messin' with inconsistent Atomizers and all the of tasteless 510 & eGo vapors, then this system WILL please you.

* Cost - $59.95 for complete two eCig starter kit with (five) pre-filled Cartos or (three) pre-filled Go-Tanks: GO-GO KIT

* Batteries last up to two days between charges (depending upon how heavily you vape)

* Go-Carts - (Go-Carts hold 3ml of Nic Juice & Go-Tanks can hold up to 2 ml. (I vape all day on 2-3 ml) - The Carts are really no muss, no fuss but once you've acclimated to vaping you should really switch to the Go-Tanks (GO GO PREMIUM TANKS) as the vapor, flavor and throat hit are unparalleled. I really do insist that in time you do this :thumb:

Be sure to order the PRE-FILLED Go-Carts when you re-order. (Five pre-filled Cartos will come with your Kit but you'll need to specify the flavor and strength. I recommend 24 mg nic strength so you resist the urge to go back to analogs. I also recommend the flavor "EASY-BORO-USA Mix" as I personally believe this tastes most like regular Tobacco. I loved Menthol when I was smoker... hate it with vaping, so this natural Tobbacco flavor would most likely suit you. You can obtain that here: EASY LIQUID 10ML BOTTLES 24MG

Wishing you the best of Luck.... hope you find your Vaping Nirvana as I did :vapor:

"If it ain't a Go-go, it's a no-go" ;)
