I was joking about the rabbit stew. The whatever they are looks like rabbit ears so I decided you could use it to grow a rabbit to make stew with.

And, as it is food related, I guess it isn't two golf clubs without their handles.

But, if you could use it for things like stew, is it some sort of thermos container for keeping food hot?

They are neither a knife sharpener nor a thermos.

and in the not much of a hint department, the base is just a holder for the objects and has no purpose associated with the functions of the objects

So the "guess what" is the white things? Are they used in food preparation as opposed to serving or eating? (I've been watching a ton of What's My Line on YouTube -- it shows in how I'm framing my questions.)

yes, the white things are the guess what...and technically, they could be during food prep, but could also be used while eating. They're not usually associated with serving. Overuse could, however, be a problem.

(i haven't seen what's my line in ages! didn't realize it was available on you tube. nice )

Does the item have something to do with garlic?

There are hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of mystery guest games up. So far, the voice I've been most impressed with was Art Carney. But take a look at this couple -- he looks like Marty Feldman playing Igor in Young Frankenstein and her hair is not to be believed.

nope, not bulbs. garlic was closer in the sense of the purpose that it is used for in cooking.

I think of cutting up and sauteeing onions like garlic. What else is there -- ginger?

think of things that you can add during or after food prep. obvious things that people who actually cook add during or after food prep.
