It looks like a bed warmer! LOL But maybe a popcorn maker? Does anyone remember Jiffy pop?

Salt pig is right! Big mouth so you can use your fingers or a spoon (for fussy types) to grap a pinch of course salt. Wouldn't work in Fl. because of the humidity..we have to add rice to our salt shakers to keep them from clumping and to abosorb moisture.

Mike's Maternal family are from Belguim..he is only 2nd generation American on this side. They were the worlds best cooks, all 5 sisters (Mom and Aunts) and his grandmother. But some of the tools used were..odd! I found on-line some of the tools his Aunts and sisters still use (stuff passed down).

You call it a "pizzelle maker".

In Belgium and Holland it's called a "stroopwafel maker".

You make the two thin cookies, and put a thin layer of "stroop" (syrup) in between them.
They sell them fresly made on the markets, they are the best!
