Heya, I put my answer to one of Danes' posts here to try to keep that "ugly mug" thread a little closer to being on topic.
WOW, you had it way different than my husband has in Rahima, KSA. His place is in a little mobile home in a compound, but he does have all the typical conveniences you'd find here, as do most people in the cities there. I like being "away from it all" but still "having it all" too, so I wouldn't make a good homesteader type, either.
That said: even though they have plumbing and all that, many bathrooms still don't have TP since most people use the little hose to clean themselves. Yeah, I'm fine with that, and think it's a good idea, actually, but who wants wet undies afterward? Oh, and in summer, the water that comes from the raised towers is HOT. Uh, I guess you can pretty much figure out what happened to me one time, and now make sure I have Kleenex or something when I'm out and about there.
A notable exception was at the Ritz in Manama, Bahrain. They had Tokyo Toilets (TOTO)!! Oh man, I have to get me one of those!

I needed to update all the supporters here that have been lending me some very huge moral support. I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate everything you guys have done for me! Xanadu my bengal cat is finally home safe and sound! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted up off of me. My baby girl is home!!!!!!!!!! She is doing really well. The lawyer had sent him a demand letter and I think that is what did it. I think he is scared. The police are still investigating and we are all hoping for an arrest by next week. Victim services has also been such a godsend for me. They have been calling me and talking to me and sending me all sorts of pamphlets and info to help me out. Ah...you guys!! I am just in tears of joy right now! Thank you everyone here at ECF for believing in me and encouraging me and offering the best support a girl could ever wish for. YOu guys kept me going through a rough time. I know its not over yet, but the best part is over. My baby kitty is back home with me where I can snuggle her, and love her and enjoy her again. She is finally away from that man. The man that could have killed me. He knows I am coming for him. He knows I will do whatever it takes to ensure he is charged and that he gets a criminal record and jail time. Let's hope our justice system prevails!!! YAY!! My baby is home!!!!! I have also stayed on the wagon with my vaping. I had a bit of craving for analogs, but I stayed true to my PV this time. I thought of you guys here, and it kept me from going to the gas station. I just kept believing my craving would pass and it did!!!
I am glad to hear things are starting to work out for you. I myself am a big believer in karma and I am sure he will get what he deserves one way or another.
