GUS Mods, thoughts?

I'm looking at picking up a GUS mod, specifically the Core WHS S/T bb 18350. I haven't found much info on them, so I'm wondering what the general thought is. I'll most likely be running a KFL+ on it with a 1.3ohm build.

I'm loving my Gus. Mine's the older one tho, so I have no idea how the ball-bearing button or the new fuse-thingy top cap works. I've read somewhere that you might want to ask for 12A fuses instead of the default one.

Great value for money, imho. Added bonus: 20x1 threading so it will work with certain hybrid-ish atties... and have interchangeable parts with a handful of other mods.

I've got an older Gus, too, and I love it. Could definitely see myself getting one of the newer ones.

I've got a Gus 14500, and while it's very well built, it uses a hot spring on the positive pin which I hate. I'll never buy another mech that uses a hot spring as they're simply not compatible with sub ohm vaping.

Edit: I know they offer an upgrade kit to eliminate the spring, but they're hard to get.

I swapped my spring for a M5 brass screw. The telescoping pin made for the GP Paps will also fit. Love it when mod makers use some kind of standardized threading. My Gus actually has the Paps top cap at the moment. Just wanted to see how it worked out, and haven't bothered switching back yet.

I don't think this is an issue with the new caps, tho. Actually I would love to know a bit more about how the new cap and BB button compares to the older one. Not even sure if the fuse cap thingy will fit an ordinary screw... or if it benefits from one like the older ones.

The stock 5 amp fuse will work fine at 4.2 volts with any coil above 0.84 ohms. The 12 amp fuse will work fine at 4.2 volts at 0.35 ohms. I have a Gus Lord on the way. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives.

Thanks for the replies! Overall it sounds like those of you that have GUS Mods aren't disappointed. I'll definitely be placing an order in the very near future.

I can vouch for the GUS Telescopic. Lovely little mod. Sold mine but I'd definitely get another one having tried a few alternatives.

Pulled the trigger this morning and got the Core ordered. I'm not sure how long shipping from Greece will take, but it sounds like it will be worth it. Now to find a nice drip tip for the Kayfun that's going on it.
