H.R.2058 - FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015

It only takes a few minutes!

I am a 57 year old middle class VOTER.

I was addicted to tobacco most of my life. I firmly believe that switching to ecigs has extended my life by years. Not only does scientific research show that it is 95% less harmful, but my own body tells me that it is less harmful.

Now the FDA is making it easier to buy tobacco than to obtain a satisfying ecig.

I urge you to support the
H.R.2058 - FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015

Products that existed before 2/14/2007 simply did not work, where current generation products DO work. As a result I have been tobacco free for 3.5 years. Please allow me the legal means to stay off of tobacco!

Sincerely,
Mike Petro

DONE. My form letter added links to research available on the Internet. I'll keep bombarding them. It's not that I have not done it before, but I needed the nudge.

Thanks!

Folks, when discussing Bernie, Trump, Hillary or any politics let's be sure to keep it focused on the vaping regulations only. Each of us could come up with a long list of why we think the other person's favorite candidate is a chump. That's not why we are here. If you want to mention any of these candidates it's fine as long as it relates to the vaping regulations.

My personal opinion is that neither Bernie or Hillary will change the FDA regulations or even appoint DHHS secretaries that would even think of doing it (would they go counter to Obama? Don't see that happening.). Trump, I don't know. My guess is he wouldn't concern himself over it and simply allow his DHHS secretary decide it for him. Just my guess and worth what you paid for it.

Agreed 110% Some of us work on the campaigns and we do not want to be getting hit over the head with another party members candidate.

Keep it on vaping and keep the coming elections off ECF unless someone adds it to their website as policy.

AS far as current candidates, if they come out in favor or oppose, we should hear abt it on ECF.

I think it is just sitting there waiting to see the outcome of the Agriculture Amendment. If that fails, then we will probably see some movement on HR2058.

Well, It met no resistance on inclusion.......Now we need to make sure every House and Senate Representative understands we want it kept intact.

I have already alerted mine.:thumb:

Sure is! But the provisions on HR2058 have been attached to the Ag appropriation bill so it will move closer to like watching a tree grow than glacial movement. :)

I'm fairly certain that the Cole sponsored HR 2058 is different from the Cole-Bishop sponsored amendment that was attached to the Ag appropriation bill.

Very little difference in them. I, for one, am grateful that we do have a government official on our side that is looking at all avenues to help our industry.

The Cole-Bishop big has just enough Bite(Definition) to make it appear more appealing to Congress than the Original Bill.

Both are available for review.

Gotta turn it off. These far left zealots are out of their minds. I can't believe in America that I have to comply with anti-freedom whackjobs who would have power over us. This is not America! I'll have to finish watching it later. It just nauseates me too much to watch the whole thing now.

Look where we stand if
FDA Deeming goes unchanged - and it is ON THE BOOKS
IF HR2058 never passes - and it is stagnate in committee
IF the Cole-Bishop Amendment does not reach Budget Approval

Our Forefathers enacted a Constitution which immediately placed the country under Governmental Control. The Bill of Rights was an Amendment to that Constitution to protect certain freedoms.

I Never pass over the dollar laying on the ground, but that never stopped me from seeking More.

Every inaction to support passage of the Agricultural Bill intact is a Free offering to the FDA to eliminate Vaping.
Other Avenues can also be visited to Gain more Ground.

No.

HR2058 is separate from the Bipartisan Amendment.

HR2058 is still sitting without movement. There is speculation that it didn't move because it was waiting on the actual deeming to come out.

We are hopeful that now that the deeming has been released, there now will be movement on HR2058. That is why everyone is being urged to contact their reps in government to support HR2058.

Please take a moment to do this Call to Action: CASAA: FDA

If you have done it already, do it again.

Just sent another letter to my representatives.

Me too....

Feel like I am p1ssing in the wind though.....

As confident that I am that we'll see some serious editing of the FDA deeming regulations. I also think that the FDA will get some or maybe most of what they are asking for, but in a restricted fashion.

I expect the regulations to be snipped and cut, especially in the area of the $300,000 fees for every type and strength of e-juice. That's just punitive. The two year process of mod regulation and inspection will probably remove some devices from the market, especially those that use more than one 18650 battery. Doing that will reduce some of the explosions we've read about, even though those have been few and far between. As we know, a few uninformed people (notice that I didn't say stupid) will always find a way to get hurt using things that the rest of us actually read the directions for before using them.

We are probably going to see the choice in mods shrink significantly. That's why I'm picking up mods I like before they are off the market. If it's on sale for a good price, then it's probably going to end up in my collection of backups.

Heck, I could probably vape by dripping on a 100 watt light bulb, but I'd rather have a box full of mods that will last me for many years. 18650 batteries aren't going anywhere. There are too many uses for them in unrelated products.

I've already proved to myself that I can vape zero nic if I have to. It's not as fun when the bitterness of nic is absent, but it replicates the act of smoking enough to keep me from wanting something with a hot coal on the tip. After six years of not smoking I know I'm not going back for any reason.

I have sent two actual letters (snail mail) to all three offices established by my representative. To me, the time taken to write, sign and mail makes a statement of commitment beyond email. It is worth a thought.

Just emailing your reps once is not enough. Keep at it. If you get a canned response, do it again and again and again.

Keep bugging them. By doing this, you are letting them know you are NOT going away and we are NOT going to let them steamroll us quietly. We are Pushing Back.
