This is my first official juice review on ECF. Although I like to write and can usually be very descriptive, I'm not accustomed to reviewing flavors, so my wording will probably be lacking in that department. Anyway. . .
Shipping was excellent--shipped the day after I made the purchase and I received it the next day. I think this is the fastest I have received a juice purchase so far (although ALL of the purchases I have made from 5 different companies have arrived within 2-3 days, maybe I've been lucky). I'm using a JantyStick with a USB pass through. I have a Joye 302 atty in, brand new. Blew it out, primed it, added three drips (no cartridge, direct drip) and the vaping begins!
The picture of the bottle on the site is exactly what you receive--a sturdy dark blue glass with a childproofed white dripper top. Stickers very professional. Definite points for presentation and professionalism. Smooth 8 juice has a floral/spice like smell to it, even before getting to the PV. I didn't smell bad, nor especially good, it was just "unique," so I wasn't sure what to expect. After two or three hits, I decided it is definitely not bad. . .pretty good in fact, but it is hard to describe what the flavors are like. One of the flavors in particular was something very distinct that I couldn't place. When I purchased the liquid, I must have completely skipped over the description, because in going back to the site to look for clues, I learned the taste is ginger! I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had read ginger, but hey, I bought it and I'm not upset that I did!
It is difficult to make out the tobacco flavor, but when I concentrate on it, I can sense the subtle undertone of it. The ginger is very strong, so I can see why it is hard to detect. After ten or eleven puffs, I can feel my tongue start to have a tingly feeling. It actually seems to have certain properties that clove cigarettes have--the numbing/tingling sensation (although nowhere near as dramatic as cloves), the cool fresh inhale, and even a faint taste of it, which may just be the ginger, but they are my taste buds and I'm sticking to my opinion!
As advertised, and as I have seen in several Halo juice reviews, the longer I vape it, the better it seems to get. One thing I definitely have NOT noticed is the "propane" taste that some others have reported. However, most that I have read indicate that the born on date on the bottle was within a day or two of when they received it, and a lot of those people then reported a week later or so that the flavor had matured and become much better. My bottle was born on the 16th of April, so it has had a couple weeks to mature already.
Vapor production is just fine, plenty for me (and I admit, I do like my vapor!). I don't feel entirely comfortable giving a "throat hit" report because since I switched from the kr808's to the JantyStick, I've noticed that nothing seems to have a throat hit! However, there is a definite strength to the vapor, and I would wager that in a different model PV, it would prove to have a good TH.
It is very hard for me to rate the overall product because each puff seems to reveal new flavors and sensations. I would have to say it is a maybe a 7.5 to 8 on a ten scale, and this is partially because Ginger is not one of my favorite flavors (gingerale I like, but not the more distinct flavor).
Some cons: Price, I admit, is pretty hefty. It does seem that you do get a step up in quality from a lot of other juices, so it is a somewhat legitimate reason for rise in price. However, I still think it is a bit too steep in price. Also, I wish it were offered in 36mg/ml, but maybe that would throw off the flavor. I have seen others mention that smaller sample bottles would be awesome so that you don't end up with 30ml of a flavor you don't enjoy. So far, I lucked out with the Smooth 8!
I do have a bottle of Freedom Juice as well, so I will probably do another review based on that. I am also planning on ordering some Bella and Torque 56, but again, I wish I could get smaller sample bottles before I take the plunge!
I hope you liked the review, even though I am a noob to the ecig. Despite my noobiness (I just made that word up, feel free to use it), I have already tried about 50 or more flavors from different manufacturers and different nicotine and PG/VG levels, so I do know some flavors!
