Please find me a live, credible person whose individual order has been seized and have them posit it on this board.

To propagate the incorrect info that a ban is in effect is irresponsible.

+1 I just got a sizable order of e-liquid from China last week and have another on the way. Stop trying to scare people, I think the government has that part covered!

You certainly are right. That is NEVER going to be a problem. Just stick our heads in the sand and it will go away. For sure, do not look at Lacey's thread just started about the Senate hearings going on right now. That might be too scary.

jim420: How appropriate that you're the OP....I assume you are already pretty familiar with possession of controlled substances. :D I share your concerns ---I certainly don't want to be worried about another one of my guilty pleasures becoming "controlled" --- nothing like living in the "land of the free and the home of the home of the brave" , eh?

Absolutely, and thank you for your comments. And also thank you for acknowledging my birthday, 4/20..which is, unfortunately shared with Bart Simpson, Hitler and Columbine.
I find it funny that they are proposing LEGALIZING marijuana, while at the same time, making smoking more and more illegal. Where did logic go?

Well, I just wrote Ms. Cummings (reglist@cdrh.fda.gov) on the matter:

Dear Ms. Jan Cummings,

I am writing you in response to a post at e-cigarette-forum.com, which stated that you had invited emails regarding e-cigs be sent to you.

I was a two-pack/day smoker for 22 years, and all my attempts to quit ended up with me smoking again. It's not just that nicotine is addictive, but it was the social and tactile aspects of smoking which appealed to me. I simply enjoyed inhaling and exhaling the smoke, as well as the subtle effects of nicotine. Truth is, I simply didn't WANT to quit, no matter the cost to my long-term health. Crazy, I know... but true for me and for millions of other smokers.

The day I acquired my first e-cig, I went from 40 cigarettes a day to 5, then only 2-3... and when my supply of "analog" cigarettes ran out, I didn't bother replenishing, I became an ex-smoker who "vaped".

My energy has dramatically improved, my lungs are clearing, my house no longer stinks of ashtrays and stale smoke... and my wife (who detested my habit but tolerated it, God bless her) is delighted with the faint, pleasant aromas of the wild cherry e-juice I like to vape. All aspects of my life have been improving since I began vaping with e-cigs, and in my mind it would be a criminal act by the government to ban these amazing devices.

We understand that better studies are required and desirable, but a ban on e-cigs or e-juice would send thousands of us ex-smokers who managed to quit the smoking habit via e-cigs back to the terrible habit of smoking. It would also obviously deny millions of other smokers the alternative of vaping their nicotine, which if allowed could help improve their lives and health as well.

Anecdotal evidence is mounting daily of how e-cigs DO facilitate healthier lifestyles, oftentimes leading to complete smoking cessation, for thousands of Americans. And many knowledgeable voices are rising across the world (doctors, tobacco specialists, etc) using available data and evidence to come out in support of e-cigs.

I encourage you to do what you can to help the powers-that-be at the FDA to:

1. Initiate proper studies of e-cigs and the entire "vaping" alternative
2. Leave e-cigs and e-juice on the market pending full FDA approval.

I thank you for your time and energy in this matter.

Remember, the U.S. is a republic not a democracy. We elect the people that make the decisions. Not, strictly speaking, to represent the will of the people.

Arnold Swartzenager (spelling?), The Governator, proposed legalization just within the last 2 weeks...for the purpose of raising tax revenues. Honest!

No, its a free market system. 90% of the wealth is in less than 1% of the populations hands. The money controls everything, if the FDA was so concerned with out health they would have 3 years of testing e-cigs in the books already.

Sorry just watched Wall Street yesterday.

Touche... We certainly have it pounded into our heads that we live in a democracy though. Regardless, It would be nice if:

1) Our elected "decision makers" decided to actually try to represent the population, just to be nice (not just special interests)

or

2) The population would open up to actually voting for representatives in a party other than the vastly corrupt Republicans and Democrats (Who get nearly ALL of the media exposure) However, I truly don't think most Americans have it in them to ever vote for members of parties who do not have the resources to bombard the TV with ridiculous commericals.

Well that sounds good to me.... That would probably wipe the national deficit in less than a decade---

And yeah... I'd expect this from the Governator: :D
