Thanks. mines silver pin, hcigar. I might just go to the mod store tomorrow before work andmake them take apart a few of their switches so I can find a close aproximation. I mean, it is just a flat top standard screw. just gotta figure out the thread size and post diameter I suppose. once I figure this all out andget it back together I will expound on the tweaks I made to it. I still want to do some more stuff to it. I'm in love with the thing and am embarassed that I broke it... more upset that it's broken. just want a pin. thanks for your input.

Should the positive end be facing the atomizer? On that same not, what'll happen if the battery is inserted the wrong way (and the fire button then pressed)?

It shouldn't matter at all, as long as you're not running a kick, in which case, the Kick has to be oriented the proper way as well. Coils are not polarity dependent, so you can fire it with the battery oriented either way.

Thanks for the answer. I've been a bit worried what might happen if the battery is inserted reversed in a mech mad, as there's no reverse battery protection (which would then be, I assume, for the protection of the circuitry in APVs and the kick).

Keep in mind, if you're using nipple top batteries, you could cause it to auto-fire indefinitely, even if you're not depressing the switch. The narrow diameter and height of the anode (the nipple) would bypass the Delrin insulator and inadvertently make contact with the switch.

When you flip the battery you swap the top cap and button.
The atty is in line with the battery.
Nipple in first. Back of battery against top cap connector.
There isn't any Delrin at the positive end.
No chance for auto fire if all parts are attached properly.

What version of the hammer do you have? I have the hcigar configured to work like his. what worked for me was to duct tape 2 pennies together very flushly, drop.those in the hole where the top cap was seated, I made sure the plastic insulators around the batt tube were pushed/threaded all the way on and I also use the battery hole outer ring to make it all fit nicely. it's not gonna totally flush up but with clever use of the threads you can make it fit pretty well. if you need me to post pics lemme know

I can't seem to get the Hammer to work in that configuration. Are you doing anything more than just switching to top cap and fire button (and adding the extension tube of course)?

Yes I extended the SWITCH(button) contact by placing a fuse under the button.
Otherwise the button won't make contact with the inner battery tube.
You can use two pennies taped around the edges, magnets etc. just b sure it won't slip and touch the sides or it will auto fire.

Quick question, I've been eyeing up the hammer and my local B&M has the tobeco clone for $50. Should I Buy or Pass?

$50 will buy you the Hcigar clone online. FastTech has the Tobeco version for about $30, but you'll be waiting a while for that one.
I would pass on the one at your B&M, unless you really want it now.

Not to mention it's that time of year. When China grinds to a halt and nothing happens for almost a month. Happy Chinese New Year :)
