Well, thanks for the responses..I don't know how I'm going to get it loose...best bet is a vice, but I'd hate to mess up threads..I guess I've been fine without locking it thus far.

Thanks:)

Np! Yeah that ring could be hard to grip especially if it's cranked down tight. Try using some rubber gloves, it usually helps me when I'm in your situation. GL!

I really wish they knurled the lock ring..

yeah i didnt think mine had a lock ring when i first got it. shortly after, i had inadvertently locked it when unscrewing the switch and i was like hot damn! it DOES have a locking ring. glad i found it lol. im not a huge fan of the idea of a non-lockable mech.

suspectK, maybe pop the switch assembly into the freezer, then use Ej's rubber glove idea. that might get things freely moving. then once you do free up the ring slap some noalox on there and you should be set.

Is there any other direct replacement button for the Hammer? I love mine, but the reason I don't use it too much is because the button itself is crap IMHO. Sure its a short throw, and is smooth, but the locking ring is ridiculous. its the same size as the base of the switch, making it real hard to tighten down the switch assy without locking the lock ring down non it tight.

good question. perhaps the king mod, chi you, or astro clones' switch would thread in. i know that their 510 top caps thread on, so maybe the switch does too. i dont have my hammer with me today but i can check if the chi you clone switch threads in a little later.

For me, the switch is nicer than the one on the Origin (while arguably being far more primitive). Waiting for my Nemesis clone so we'll see how that compares. Even if I'd find a nicer button, however, I'd stick to the old one as I really want to keep it looking the way it is.

I recently received an Hcigar Hammer that I won a few weeks ago.

I gotta say, this is a nice little mech. Very modular and unique. It's definitely more versatile than the mere 18350 "pipe" mech I dismissed it to be.

I don't really notice any voltage drop. Now while I'm sure it's not hitting like a Stingray, it's certainly good enough... I can pop on a Nimbus and lung bust with gusto, no problemo.

It's just a great mod for home. It's sturdy and heavy, and easy to pick up and plop back down. I'm really loving the way I can palm it and fire with my middle finger resting over the large button. That's so much better than any bottom fire or side fire mech I've used.

I would have never purchased this mod on my own volition. I only use regular mechs when I'm at home tasting or treating myself to a flavor for a bit; otherwise I'm 100% Reo, all day every day. I'm super happy to have had one plop into my lap for free, and even happier that this particular one I received isn't suffering from any of the issues the others can have. (lucky me:D)

I don't want to get into any clone arguments here, but considering the $250 price tag of the original, and the fact that I'm staring at this gorgeous 316 SS clone that retails for around $60... I dunno guys... something stinks.

It's kind of sad, because I'm appreciating this mod so much that I feel compelled to seek out the original in order to give the designer some love, but alas; no f'ing way for $250. And there you have it... sigh...

Cheers

Yep, the chi you switch threads right on. Looks great too IMO. Functions great too, as the locking ring is much easier to use.

I think I've lost my mind...I know I tried the extensions when I first got mine, but the extension tubes are the same size as firing pin cap.. threads in perfectly there, but too small for switch.. have I lost my mind or traveled in some parallel dimension some how? Maybe both? This is driving me up the wall.

theres a threaded ring that gets threaded onto the switch assembly. make sure you remove that ring and keep it with the switch if you alternate the switch and tubes.

What you going to pop on it?

Always more tricky to find a good looking atty on anything not stainless steel i think...

v1ck.

I am thinking to use my polished Russian 91%. I think it'll be a decent looking combo. What do you think?
