Yeah, I went to their website after your earlier post and I couldn't find a picture that shows the LED. Interesting. Not sure why, but I'm glad mine has it.

My process for selecting wattage is based entirely on the taste of the juice. I only go to the point at which I think the juice tastes best. I tried something at 30 watts when I first got the Hana, and I nearly coughed my lungs out! :(

And yeah, I'm really pleased with the evolv. I'm reading in some other threads that the clone/counterfeit is showing the wrong watts, and another thread is reporting that the buttons fell out after a couple of hours use. I haven't heard of anything similar with the Hana, so I guess it's the old adage -- you get what you pay for, and I'm still feeling good about purchasing the original.

I wonder if you got something special there. all the pics I see on the net even of the full size do not have it. strange. the weird thing is even the cana says it has a led but not in the pictures either. man, not knowing when it is fully charged is a bummer. not a deal breaker for me though. I love this thing. the battery meter does not exactly let me know when it is full. I am just going to plug it in the wall while I vape. no need for mophie for me. I just stay put while I vape.

I see you are at 1.1@10.5w. try .8@18 for some real fun lol. or even lower ohms. as I said though going too high like the gi2 can=fire. not cool. anyways if anyone pushes the wattage be real careful!

so I think evolve is best. I hope they do a darwin2 unless it is just a dna30 ill stick with the hana.

Yep, thanks for that.

Yeah, I would say it's pretty high. If you go to hyperionvape's website they have pictures of some newer units with the led.

What I was saying was I haven't heard similar stories about the buttons falling out or misreporting the voltage. Sure, I've read about QC issues with the Hana, and some of them I find so unbelievable that I ignore then. For example, one guy posted a picture of the wiring showing splayed wires. When I challenged him on them, he said he only meant it as a joke, when his message said nothing to suggest it was a joke. There are people out there -- for some strange reason -- who are clearly out to destroy the Hana reputation. Most seem to be connected to the pre-order that SSVapes was running.

So yeah, there seem to be some problems with Hana QC. I tend to ignore reviews from guys swilling beer and complaining they aren't treated as well as reviewers with thousands of subscribers.

icebat, do you know if the later mini's have the led too?

it figures the Chinese is junk. i guess that's how you can tell if one is real then lol.

edit: on hyperion's website the picture of the mini does not have an led. id like to know if they ever added it to the mini.

I haven't seen any minis with the led. So I would guess the answer is no. Don't quote me on that though. You could ask around, but your best bet would probably be to contact Hana directly.

Yeah, I realized what you were saying. I ended up deleting my post because I didn't want to start an argument. You can choose to believe whatever you want about the quality control issues. I don't have any first hand experience so I'm just going off what I've read. Either way, like I said before, I'm glad you got a good working unit, and I'm not here to bash or take away anything from this thread.

okay thanks. not like i could get another one now anyways. i mean there are none. even though the lipoly is smaller i like it better. since the 18650 is held captive anyways. why not go lipoly is the way i see it. plus it charges real fast. i have been looking in the cavity for the green light now. i could drill a hole and i want a bigger battery too. i just think since it is captive anyways i proffered the mini. the full is not much bigger. it was not a hard decision for me. especially since there was only one left haha.

china can make very good high end products for American/European companies. counterfeits are well, always counterfeits. i have never seen a great counterfeit anything. the whole point is it is for folks that want something for nothing. of course the fake is like $100. i would buy a hana off ebay for $600 before i spent $100 to go in the trash in one day. other people don't always think that way. so they have their market.

yeah, i pushed 30 on a 2.3 just to check safety. it did not catch fire but the smoke was acrid. i did not inhale that but i smelled it. so this is pretty safe if we use common sense. the gi2 i saw a video of coils on fire one after the other. i have no interest in that whatsoever. suck down a flame. yeah that's great. plus the thing has issues. the hana is all i wish for until there is something clearly better.

I didn't think you were trying to start an argument. I think I took it as you intended. But, like in the other threads, I don't want to argue QC issues with people who don't own the mod. I think I know more about it than people who don't own it. And thanks, you're not as happy as I am that my unit doesn't have any issues. It's an expensive item, and after a few weeks, I still think it was money well spent.

I think the no-logo version is going for $70, and the counterfeit about $110.

The Provari analogy is a good one. The Hana is a good solid device that does what it promises to do, well. I think maybe the only difference is likely the customer service issues. I've seen credible reports that Hana's customer service doesn't match that of Provape.

I bought so many mech mods. with every one I felt I was wasting money. here I feel it was money well spent. I have no issues with it. it works great. this is what I imagine a provari would be if it were to be released today. I think that says a lot.

This is an X-post from the SS Vape HM thread... I didn't know this one existed, and I a lot of people who finally got theirs may have moved on from that thread:

Any idea why I'd be getting a shorted error with no obvious shorts? I had been using my .4 ohm coil on my Trident all day yesterday and it was great. Went to bed tonight with it charging, woke up, and it'd say "check atomizer" and then swap to "shorted". My russian 91 fires fine and my Trident fires on my other (mech) mods. New coil/wick on the trident with the same results.

Edit: I figured it out... the center post on my Trident was poorly insulated and now its making contact with the deck. I'll just buy a new one.

must be a trident clone thing mine did the same thing. Second and last clone I ever bought, waste of money, time and effort lol.

one little thing. you cannot tell when exactly it is completely charged. if you take it off the cable right when the battery icon hits the top it is still charging. so if you just pick it up after a while you don't know if the last segment is "full". other than letting it sit on charge a unnecessarily long time there is really no way of knowing if the last segment is finished. am I right or am I missing something?

I love the mini though. after like 15 cycles it charges in an hour. sure, the 18650 will vape longer but take 3 hours to charge too. lipo is a good technology but they really should have put 2000mah in this. if we can just find a suitable battery. I will not dremel it!
All ya have to do is click the fire button 3-4 times and your battery gauge will then read accurately. Must be a lipo thing because only my mini does it, no big problem though just gotta give it a couple clicks (with atomizer on or off doesn't matter).

This. Again mykereid making a bunch of sense. "That guy" was being belligerent in his video, I can only imagine how he interacted with Hana. After he blew up on them (and I can pretty much guarantee you he did) they probably just said "well the h with this guy...". I had to send one of my Hana's b/c of problems and I had great CS. Julia (the CS lady) was quick to respond, quick to get it fixed and quick to send back.

Thanks, brekec. I had the same thought about the interaction between this guy and Hana. I can't imagine he was very pleasant to deal with, and in my experience that doesn't get you good CS.

Care to share what was wrong with yours that required returning to Hana?
