dunno but if i was to smoke the ready mades i used to i recon thirty to forty per day at 1.2 mg per cig.. which roughly hovers around the 40-ish mg per day or more levels..

which kinda matches up with two to three ml of 24 flue cured mg per day.. my two sons also use about the same amount..

if i am gonna believe any figures i tend to go for the ones that make some kind of sense to me..

18-ish mg per half an ounce dosnt.. 40-ish mg per half an ounce does..

Are you sure you rolled 30-40 cigs out of only ~15 grams of tobacco??? The RYO packages here contain ~50 grams and most people use around 50 leaves of paper to finish a pack. So that's around 1 gram tobacco per cig. If I would roll very thin cigs I think I could get 20 out of half an ounce but never 30-40.

your idea of thin quite obviously aint the same as my idea of thin.. i mean "prison" thin".. getting on for fifty cigs perhaps forty five based on the fact there wasnt ever many papers left in a packet.. four or five on average..

it takes year of practice to roll em as thin as i did and UK tobacco prices..

my thirty a day figure was based on much fatter ready mades..

so u are pretty useless at rolling thin fags if u can only manage twenty... he he he

i have always resented having to spend money on my addiction.. hence the miserly approach to it.. i tend to take the same misery approach to my e smoking habit.. dont spend any more on it then i have to..

UK tobbaco prices have this affect which is why so many UK people do roll ups..

having said this years ago at my worst i used to buy 60 a day ready mades.. park drive at a todays price of £7 a packet.. or nearly £150 a week..

i moved to roll ups to cut this silly cost down.. it worked two ways.. i never had to hand so many round every time i got one out and didnt smoke so much while driving which i did a lot of....

i dont like my e smoking addiction any more then i did my tobbaco addiction.. but its something i have to live with.. or die as may be the case.. he he

The Associated Press: FTC rescinds guidance for cigarette ads

as a matter of interest the FTC has recently described the tests which analyze the quantity of nicotine and tar in cigarettes to be flawed and are to scrap them.

Found this quite interesting from the article:

Under the current system, cigarettes with a tar rate above 15 milligrams per cigarette are commonly referred to by the industry as "full flavor." Cigarettes with a tar rating of less than 15 milligrams are referred to as "low" or "light." Cigarettes with a tar rate below 6 are described as "ultra low" or "ultra light."

I don't think any cigarettes I can think of in the UK have a tar rating of above 15mg. They have definitely got lower tar and nicotine levels over the years..

Of course, in the EU any use of phrases like "low", "light" or "mild" in tobacco product names have long been banned. Hence Marlboro Lights are now just Marlboro "gold" etc..

Great topic I've been trying to find more info on.

I started making my own bout 2 years ago. Ordered the tobacco from a small company out of North Carolina. They had the best tobacco, for me anyways, but very little info on tar/nic/etc. So I wasn't sure where to start on eliquid strength

I am still struggling to get my nic intake comparable, but I think the free-based nicotine I have been used to is the hardest part. I prefer the 24mg liquid, but I have been using some 36mg for a few days, and still doesn't seem too strong. I bummed a smoke(Winston) off a buddy last night and besides the nauseating nasty(Im so glad it tasted so bad!), there was definately an instant head rush I can't get from even 36mg...

Just opinion, but I do think I am taking in more nicotine overall, which I plan to wean down eventually.

Probably a question for it's own thread, but are there many people out there who've had success wean off of high nicotine to low?

Ah I see. Well, the way you describe it is one possibility. When I want to use less tobacco (for a quick smoke) I just roll a cig that's only half filled with tobacco and I tear off the empty part. You must be missing the taste of cigarette paper since you've switched to e-cigs ;)

i pretty much had an unlit one in my mouth most the time.. they go out as soon as puffings stops.. a quick flick of the lighter every so often.. when one is finished i would roll another and stick that in my mouth.. my ciggy lighers got hammered.. he he

one of the things i miss about e smoking is they aint hands free.. i dont like having to stop what i am doing just to have a smoke..
