so basically you started with the 901 then went through all of them and ended up back at the start again. on the boring 901 :p

pretty much so.. i will keep the odd other type to play with but my mainstay looks like being the 901.. assuming they dont change the design and mess it i up..

i am currently comparing the run time of my older but little used striped batteries to my youngest sons new matt ones.. his did 2.5 hours when new they are now down to two hours after a weeks use..

my older but little used stripey one has now been going for 2 hours forty minutes.. i will run it till the flat light flashes..

Awww thanks hehe unless you wanted to use it, I can always change it to something else if ya like! :) So I hear Trog thinks the 901 is boring. I love mine and theres always black or pink! I drained both my batteries today as I was away from the charger, left the one battery on for half hour so I can vape whilst the other gets a charge is that ok to do?

I was wondering how you are testing the burn times of the batteries? Are you talking about actually using it for a couple of hours or do you have a burn tester?

By smoking it of course :p why put them on a special tester when the goodness of smoking them is available!

I have been contemplating building an actual burn tester to see what the real life of these batteries is.. That way Ill actually know how much the performance degrades over time.. There are also some really great battery conditioner/chargers that I have used in the past with AA cell batteries that wouldn't hold a charge for very long and it has resurrected the batteries! I may try to convert them so that they can be used with e-cig batteries...

Of course it will be a little while until I can devote any time to that project since Im pretty slammed with other stuff at the moment...

no not really phil my son has sat next to me for two night testing his matt new ones run time.. he smokes similar to me.. two hours run time after several runs.. give or take a few minutes..

i fished one of mine stripey ones out.. after four hours use its still going strong.. so far we are at double the run time of the new matt batteries..

it not finished yet..

without any shadow of a doubt.. the new matt ones are of a lesser quality..

i will report back when the flat light flashes..

its easy to make a run time tester.. just use a light bulb of say 300 mah and see how long each battery takes to go flat.. a holder of some type needs cobbling together..

there isnt any rocket science involved here.. charge the battery put it in the tester and time how long it takes to go flat..

The battery life is difference is interesting! I spent about an hour last night talking to my manufacturer in china about some of the issues that I have seen people talking about here.

They are aware of some of the issues, and I brought a few more to there attention as well... Supposedly they are working verry hard on the issues with the life of the atomizers and a design that will allow for more consistant air flow through the atomizers... Ill be talking to them again tonight and Ill ask about the battery issues you are having... Im also getting some samples of one of the new models on the market early next week so Ill compare it to the 901 I have now to see if there is a difference...

i am not getting battery issues really phil.. simply stating the new matt batteries we have are not a patch on the old ones..

the old ones were in fact exceptionally good.. when u start at the top the only way is down sadly.. one of the reason i liked the 901 has now disaperaed its exceptionally good battery.. now its just an average cheap chinese battery..

if u take a saw to one of these things phil look at the very small battery that lives inside the stainless steel tube and know anything at all about batteries why they wont live long is obvious..

they are roughly 2/3 the size of a AAA single lithium cell.. i think the new ones would be around 150 mah.. not big enough.. they will not live long.. no lithium cell will when its being discharged at 5 times its rated capacity.. its battery abuse..

after 4 and 3/4 hours my striped one is still going by the way..

ps.. 4 hours fifty five minutes.. its flat..
