Trying to figure out when a Volt carto is ready for the trash. I did locate a few threads around this topic, but I didn't quite get it  Will the polyfil inside look strange/different? I have one that looks a little dark, but I think that's from using a dark juice? I read about strange plastic taste, etc & I've experienced that, but refilling/topping off the carto seemed to remedy that. I also read something about when the draw becomes hard? I find that some seem to have a harder draw, but only at times - this is hard to put my finger on, sorry - and maybe slightly reduced vapor & TH?

I've probably refilled some of these about 5 times - is that too many?

Sorry for the newb question...

I pitch mine when my juice doesn't seem satisfying any more (like I'm not getting enough nic). If the draw seems tighter, and you seem to be hitting it more often, then I'd say it's time for a new one.

Thank you - haven't been at this long enough to even know when I've killed a carto

Bloog cartos are the wtg for 808s. I've used V4L, SI, Boge and Bloogs are supreme. The carto slowly gets harder and harder to draw. I was using my Bloog carto so many times I didn't notice the huge difference until I used a new one. Go to the Bloog page--there's guys using one for weeks and weeks. But, depending on how hard/much you vape, when the draw gets tight just pitch it. I got on a streak and used 1 for like a week+ of constant refills and finally tossed it--new carto was a huge difference. After you vape a bit you'll just get an idea for approx the time you just decide to toss it; you CAN use them till they barely draw but don't go crazy on saving them.

Thank you - I will check out Bloog right now! I know I'll eventually get a feel for it, but it can be confusing in the beginning I guess. I've prob been using some of these for a week now, although since I alternate between 3-4 different cartos (w/different flavors) it's hard to know how much I'm using each one (or how many ml of juice I'm using each day for that matter).

I'm such a 'use-it-til-you-can't-use-it-no-more' kind of of person  that sometimes I push things beyond their useful life. In other words, I'm cheap!

well i will say the cleaning does work really good i just went out and got the same thing that woman used in the vid and cleaned the one i got the burnt taste on and man what a different taste it was saved and taste better than the newer one i just filled up. plus it is much easier to pull on so i might just clean them till they stop working all together. money i spent on the syringe was cheaper than a new carto and now i have 2 new cartos coming for no reason. well they will be backups for when this one does burn out.

I've been using the Volt cartos off and on since last August.... you'll know it's dead when it either stops producing any vapor at all, or when it just doesn't perform as well even after cleaning/filling. It really depends on the juice you're using. Thicker juices tend to leave more sludge in the carto and I'll get maybe 5-6 refills. Clearer thinner juices, I've refilled 10-15 times. Cartos aren't expensive enough to keep vaping them when they severely slack off. If you're not getting the performance you need, chuck it and use a fresh one.

Hmm I'll have to give that a try. I usually just pitch mine. Wondering if the prepunched hole will screw up the efficacy of the method, ie the stuff coming out there rather than at the battery end. Guess I could alway slap a piece of tape over the hole though.

Bookmarked the demo and will give it a try when I can get myself an oral syringe. Thanks for the info, I'd never seen that demo.

I haven't used a Filler Type Carto for a Long Time but when I did, I found a good solution for a Hard Draw.

And that is the Paperclip Rolling Pin.

Straighten out a Paperclip. GENTLY push it thru the Battery End of the Cart until it comes out the Mouth Piece. If it meets any resistance, Don't Force it. It could be hung up on the Atomizer Wire.

Once the Paperclip is thru the carto, Roll the Carto on the Paperclip like a Rolling Pin.

This opens up the Center Air Way and makes the Draw much Better.

Thank you. Definitely worth a try.

No Problem.

There is another way for a 510 Atty/Carto/CE2/etc.

And that is to take a 1/16" drill and open up the One or Both of the Side Holes at the Battery Connector. I do this on All my CE2's.

The Paperclip Roller Pin is simpler but only works on a Filler Type Carto.

Thanks for the paperclip rolling pin idea! I obviously have a lot of experimenting to do - today I was having trouble w/a carto just not feeling right (draw feeling airy, not a lot of vapor, etc) & discovered that my battery was just about dead. Screwed my spare battery on the same carto & it was tons better. I suppose after a while I'll recognize the various 'symptoms' and what the fix is. Right now I go through the whole litany - is my carto dead? Getting low? Battery dying out? Oh, so that was it!

i bet if you just cover the holes with something like blue masking tape it would work like any unpunched carto. i would use blue masking tape because it will not leave any residue on the carto to be removed after
