Hard late suggestion - e-vapping vs e-cigarette

hoping you are all vapping well, and never smoking again.
well, i am wondering why it is called cigarette? why not e-vaporizer, or battery vaporizer, or evaporator ........... any other good name.
............
i do believe we need to start remove the word cigarette from our (this community) language.
we need to ignore this word and not use it in any.
.......................
the propaganda and media is of quite effect.
......... to say i am vapping or i have an e vaporizer is much better and greater effect than e-cigarette
may be there was a need before, but i guess it is the time to start it over.

First, that'll never happen. Your argument has been addressed multiple times already. This is the second thread today on this topic, I believe.

Secondly, I was poking fun at Ken.

It doesn't matter what we call the device, it is what it is. I believe Shakespeare said it best when he said that a rose by any other name is still a rose.

It does make sense, but I think it's a name that's here to stay. That's what people looking for information call it. I never heard the term vaping until I came here. That's how most people find information and find the forum.

It's an uphill battle to get the name changed. While you may not be alone with your crusade to get the terminology changed, the majority of us have just accepted the term ecig, and moved on.

1- what you say will never happen today .............. could be possible to happen tomorrow and i will be waiting for it.

2- as it is the 2nd today, so i am not alone, thanks yo have mentioned it



although it is just a name, but it has a marvelous sociological and propaganda effect.

This has been addressed by the site's owner on numerous occasions. The terms and name aren't going to change.

I call it a "thingy" to non smokers. "I'm off to, erm, puff on this here thingy" they understand.

Can't see a massive issue with the branding "e-cig", it's kinda what the mainstream non smokers/vapers understand them to be.

I've started announcing my mod as a personal vaporizer though, to people that vape ciglikes, but that's more educational to those who get vaping. The rest get "thingy" and they understand with no further elaboration required

Come on now, this is a circular argument. We know it isn't smoking, it's vaping. But you'll argue that if it isn't smoking, why is it called an electronic cigarette, when cigarettes are smoked. And we'll go round and round, and a whole lotta nuthin will be accomplished.

Vaping people do not call it smoking, and smoking is not vaping. Smoking implies combustion, which in an electronic cigarette, there is none.

My mother still calls her pv a cigarette and she's been vaping 3 years. She's almost 80 so she gets a pass, but it drives me a little nuts.

I'm on the thingy train as well. Or... judging by how some people pose their questions... I often call it nicotine.

I now call mine, "No second hand smoke". I do understand the eCig moniker and It might change for the better, never say never.

Most of us used to smoke for longer longer period, if somebody tried to ask me about stopping smoking some months ago,....... i would stop the discussion................ now we all accept the new healthier better alternative which is vaping.

so i can not consider,,,,,,, as we have used to or accustomed or ..... to e cigarette so it should continue e cigarette ...........

everybody is aware that in the early stage it was not known and the inventor tried to find a close name to introduce it and get a use of the propaganda and impression of the word "electronic" so the e-cigarette name came into life.


i do believe it is over, now it is quite known, it should be (OR AROUND) the time to remove this word from at minimum our community language.

is there any cigarette here so why "cigarette" continue surviving?
