You can't know until you try, suicide being an obvious exclusion, no backsies. I love puns. You snus, you lose. If you can keep your vaping supplies and liquid costs under what you spent on tobacco, you are a winner. Don't give up! Don't be shy, keep asking questions on the forums until you find the info you need. Keep in mind you may not find what you want (you think you want a cigarette), but vaping has satisfied the needs of thousands.

Alright, so I'm having a rough time getting rid of the last of the ciggies I smoke. Every few days, usually every other day or so, I get a TERRIBLE craving for them. My mouth starts to water and that's literally all I can think about. I really REALLY don't want to smoke anymore, and the rest of the time I'm fine and don't want them at all.

Anyone got any suggestions? I did search through the forums a bit to get some ideas, and I tried upping my nic during the crave, and that did work at first, but doesn't seem to be helping anymore.
I smoked 1 1 1/2 PAD and began on 36 mg. "Most" begin @ 18 or 24 mg but there are a bunch of us that began higher. You could also adjust the ohms on your carto/ tank/ and/ or the voltage on your Twist to get a stronger hit. If these suggestions don't help there's always WTA juice- not to use it all the time but just for those occasions when you're craving. Some vapers add just a tiny amount to their juice.
The Very Best of Luck as I admire the reasons you're doing this.

Try all the suggestions and keep the ones that work for you (but I also recommend the idea of more powerful juice available for certain times!)

One thing I find helps for me (I am tapering off and currently at 2 or 1 or 0 per day) is to just go OK I'll have one in a half-hour and vape in the meantime. It takes the pressure off and gives me time to notice what might be going on (stress, low nic, physical trigger etc) ... most of the time I don't have that cigarette whereas if I go "I can't have one" the craving gets more insistent.

Obviously many people have had success doing pretty much the opposite and just saying "I won't have a cigarette" ... the moral is stick with the strategies that best aid your own quit-smoking process; we are all individual with different personalities and different components to our addiction.

I, too am having a hard time staying away from analogs. I started using e-cigs one week ago (24 mg) but I'm still smoking over a pack a day. This isn't exactly a defeat for me, since I've smoked 2-3 packs a day for over 45 years.
I've got an e-pipe on order from ePipeMods, along with some e-juices. I'm hoping this upgrade will get me a bit farther on the right path.
I'm glad this thread was started - it's given me some good ideas and reassured me that my experience so far doesn't mean that I'm doomed to fail.

Right now I've an Ego C Twist, and two 650 mah ego batteries. I'm trying to keep costs low because my wife started vaping with me, and I sorta made a promise to myself no mods or anything for at least 6 months.

The eGo has the weakest voltage battery on the market at only 3.4 volts. Even stick batteries have higher voltage batteries. That could be part of the problem. Warmer vapor does help many make that transition. I would consider a PV with variable wattage so you can better simulate the real thing and have true consistency in your vape. A Vamo only costs $40 and is definitely better than models like the eGo Twist and similar VV models.

All suggestions here are good, it's all about YOU and what works for you.

I struggled in the morning when my brain decided that it needed a "kick start" of nicotine. I had tried a few different flavors and strengths that were all good - once I got the analog kick start...

A couple months ago I got an order of 36 mg menthol and the next morning my brain decided that it's kick start would come from menthol juice. I haven't had an analog since.

This is a good thread Herione. Thanks for the post.

I still have a cig once in awhile. I'm down to 2-3 cigs/month. Pretty good I'd say. :)

Here's what's worked for me:

First off, I smoked only additive-free cigs. (Sherman's MCDs or American Spirits). I think that has made it easier for me. Maybe I wasn't getting all the other stuff in the Winston/Marlboro/Camel type cigs that others seem to miss.

When I decided vaping would work for me, I put my cigs, lighter & ashtray in a cabinet in another room. I let myself have a smoke if I wanted it. But I had to get up, go to my cabinet, get my ashtray, lighter, etc. Sometimes I forgot. So...I forgot to smoke. :)

Having the cigs available but out of reach has really alleviated my stress. I remember the first time I drove my car someplace & only took my vape, leaving the cigs at home. I was nervous that I might fail, but I was fine.

You can do it Herione.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the encouragement! I truly, honestly appreciate this. I'm really hoping that I can attack this from a few different ways.

Step 1) I've had my wife hide the cigarettes and lighters so I don't see them. I've very visually cued, so this has helped GREATLY.
Step 2) I'm going to order 5 or 6 atomizers this week. ( Not rebuildable yet. I need to get comfortable with dripping first. Once that happens and I can poke around in a dead one, I'll move to rebuildable. I do have rebuildable clearomizers and I'm fine with those.) But I AM a fiddler. I do like the process of doing things, and I'm thinking that dripping might help. But it will also solve my desire for wanting to change flavors a lot. Thanks to those that recommended this!
3)When I first started, and I had my crap juice from the mall, I was mixing menthol juice and fruit flavored juice. I managed to stay off of the cigarettes for a total of 8 days. I'm thinking menthol might be a key player for me. I'm going to order some more IceIce and keep it on hand to see if this helps combat it, too. ( So funny! I very very rarely smoked menthols when I smoked regularly!)
4) I'm going to come here and lean on you guys for support! Thanks again for being there! I'd be one lost person without you all!

Great to hear you sounding optimistic again. Do you mind me asking what ohms cartos, etc you use at what voltage?

Right now I'm using a vivi nova mini, 1.8 ohm on 4 volts. I've found that a rougher pull was for some reason making me pull REALLY hard off of the clearos I had, were burning them out super fast. Everyone seems to recommending a warmer vape, but I know when I clean my head out, and the vape is particularly warm after that, I sorta don't like it? It seems too hot to me...

After washing the head did you dry burn the head?
With the 1.8 ohms you could turn the voltage down or use a higher ohms. The Vivi is a top coil so it would give a warmer vape. Bottom Coil delivery devices give a cooler vape because the coil is not close to the lips.

Edit: Don't know if you have this chart:

Not that I am encouraging anyone to smoke a cigg, but If You continue to have big time urges, get a pack of a brand You thought were nasty before you started to vape. And as mentioned here before that the more You vape the nastier ciggs become to You, if You smoke a cigg You thought was nasty to begin with it might speed up the process of complete elimination.

I dry burned, but I'm thinking it's because maybe I'm not getting the wicks totally dry when I refill.

I went ahead and ordered a few kanger evods for precisely this weekend.. Can't WAIT for a super cool vape!

And this chart is incredibly accurate. Some juices do fry at 4, and do super well at 3.7. Thanks!

After cleaning my wicks in water, I dry them by wrapping them in a paper towel for a few hours. After they seem pretty dry, I soak the wicks and coil in little pill bottle with Everclear, shaking it up now and then. After removing the wicks and coil from the Everclear, I wrap it back up to dry in a paper towel again. It barely needs a dry burn after that, the PGA dries up completely and pretty quickly.

I also found that I like a cool vape. My 2 ohm carts and coil units give me that cool vape at 3.3v, up at 4+v I find it too hot.

That might be what I'm doing wrong. I generally just pat them dry, throw them back on, reassemble, blow it out.. You know, I just use the Pbusardo method lol. Vaping starts out a little warm, but eventually goes away. I've found that heads generally last me about 6-10 days, depending. Are you getting a longer life?

Oh, trust me they taste like crap. I even switched to a crappy tasting version of what I was smoking. And on the every day all the time, I am satisfied. It just hits me out of nowhere, it's really weird. Every other day or so, I'll just want one so bad. I'll go outside, light up, smoke 1/4 to half of it, pitch it, come inside, brush my teeth and then vape, and it goes away. I just don't even want that half at this point. The goal was end of the month totally off of them. I'm hoping that it can still be done, though!

I let my heads dry overnite but if needed quickly I use a hairdryer set on low/ warm.
