So I am somewhat new to vaping (bout a month now) and have learned a lot from this forum...thanks everyone! My current setup is an eleaf IStick with Aspire BVC tanks (not the Nautilus...yet lol). I started at 18mg juice and have gone down to 12mg, but sometimes it's still very harsh and too much TH. I've been playing with the VV/VW settings, and it seems to depend on the flavor of juice. Fruity seems better at a higher setting while coffee seems better lower. But sometimes no matter where I have it, it's just too harsh and makes me cough. Should I try lower nic juice? Or is there a better setting or tank I could try?

I found that if the TH is too harsh and it's making me cough then my nic is to high. I only vape 6mg in tank or rda and have no issues. As Jory stated above the mix can also play apart. PG= TH, VG= Plume, the less pg you have can also smooth out your TH. If your 12mg is causing problems try a 20/80 pg/vg mix or lower your nic.

I was the same when i 1st made the switch & because i was on a high mg with analogs i initially started off on 24mg juice which lasted about 2 days, then i went down to 18 which lasted a few weeks and then i went down to 12 which was perfect for me. i found with the higher mg juices i would get terrible headaches and felt like my throat was on fire. Higher VG blends tend to be much smoother than higher PG blends so take that into account. I like mixing up from time to time and i find a 16mg VG blend produces the same TH a 12mg 60/40 PG blend does... for me anyway.

When is the last time you cleaned your tank? If some juice gunked up in the air hole that could be the culprit. Air flow makes a huge impact on the smoothness of a vape. The comments on Pg is a valid theory. While nic does have the biggest impact on TH 12mg is a medium-low level and I just don't think the PG or nic is the issue because you said "sometimes". I could be wrong but i feel like if either of those where to blame it would be "all the time". Some one asked how old the coil is, that is def a good starting place. Even if the coil is brand new you may want to try a new coil. Some coils are just duds. Good luck trouble shooting.

Thank you all for the tips. My coils are clean, I generally clean them every couple days and replace as needed. It is not getting hot to the touch at all. I have tried various settings from 3.0V up to 5, and it seems at the higher voltage it is a bit smoother, until I start getting burnt hits and have to turn it back down. I am hoping the Nautilus will be better, my hubby has the same setup I do except he has a couple Nautilus Minis, and that always gives nice smooth hits. I have not tried changing the PG/VG ratio yet, everything I've vaped is 50/50 and that is all that is available around here. I may have to try ordering some and and see if it is any better.
