When I fly, I carry a Blu in my carry-on. TSA confiscates anything else. I also use them for back-up when working on location.

TSA confiscated your vaping gear? Dude, I fly all over the country for work and carry all my gear with me in my carry on (except for my juices...the majority of which I check). I have never...never...had an issue with the TSA. I'm talking tubes, tanks, RBAs, eight AW IMR batteries...the works. Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas, LAX...you name it and I've been through there. The only comment I've had is "Whoa...that's a lot of metal."

Did you get your gear back? If not you should really see somebody about that. Whomever consfiscated it was sorely mistaken.

Started with Blu, got the Premium 100 kit. Those cartos were good for about 5 puffs and that was it plus the quality control in manufacturing is questionable. Sometimes you'd get a really good carto, the next one or two would be duds. Then I tried refilling them myself and it didn't go to well - burned a bunch up or flooded them. The battery life is extremely short it seemed. All that being said, I was coming off a 2 PAD habit of 30 years so it just didn't have the strength to keep up. I loved the flavors though (especially java), and when I actually got a mod and tanks, I went to Johnson Creek juices first.

It was a great place to start. :)

Just curious...
<snip>
My question is: has anyone ever actually stuck with it and made it their PV of choice, even after being exposed to other, better alternatives? I mean, it has to have happened to people who simply didn't know what else was out there, but has anyone ever heard testimonials or even tried another setup, only to decide to keep riding the Blu train?
<snip>

I started with a cigalike available over the internet. (Eversmoke? Evergreen? Something like that.) Anyway, they weren't bad but expensive - fifteen dollars plus shipping for five little cartridges. And the batteries themselves were almost thirty dollars, only came in black/white/silver, and were not very good quality. (But they had a crystal tip which lit up :blink:)

They didn't last long. I went back to smoking, then eventually found ECF and learned about other options. Picked up an ego/ce4 in May and haven't had a cigarette since.

But there's nothing inherently wrong with cigalikes. In fact, I am waiting for some batteries to arrive. 510 threaded, 400mAh but significantly skinnier than the egos (11mm vs 14mm). By comparison, most cigalikes are roughly 9mm wide. The battery is roughly comparable to an ego mini (350mAh) but longer and skinnier and no ego threading, just 510. They are automatics, come in different colors, and have a crystal tip. :)

I also ordered little 1ml clearos with 510 threading to try (or you could use 510-threaded cartos).

So they're not exactly cigalikes, sort of midway between a cigalike and an ego. I don't think I'll use them all the time but I think they'll have a definite place in my lineup. I like different flavors and carry a minimum of three egos with me wherever I go. These might take their place. We'll see.

I had a blu fora long time I would have stuck with it. The reason i don't use it now is simply because of the way the company sells their stuff. I need a new PCC & want the 100 batteries. But I can't buy those without buying a whole new kit, so I bought another kit (eroll) and I use that instead. But if all Blu's stuff could be purchased separately I'd still be using it. It's very convenient. I do like my egos & other things though too. The Blu is just nice for being out & about.

I used Blu for about 3 months and it did get me off cigs,but once the kit started to get a little age,failing Batts,charger pack not working,cost of new batts,out of my flavors and cost,I was ready to go back to smoking. A Blu friend steered me in the ego direction. I now use a Vamo and could not even think of a cig a like,BUT for someone coming off Cigs I think it is a good starting place,IF they need that small,cig-like feel. I was a 2.5 PAD and 35 yr smoker,so I needed more. I find it hard to use my Ego,but do when I am doing yard work. I love the ego,but now it feels so small. My Vamo is simple,lets me test the OHMs,lets me know my Batt life left,so I like it.
