Has anyone tried having a cigarette lately?

I still smoke some and hate it.... well, its a love/hate relationship really. I sure don't do it for the nic and my eroll satisfies hand-to-mouth. I think I do it for the feel. Smoke just feels different than vapor both in the mouth and inhaling. I have to work at getting past the taste... I actually work at it so there's something in smokes I'm willing to go through discomfort to get. Usually, I smoke in spurts of three or four drags on the same smoke several times a day... yuck, yuck, yuck. Then I vape to get the taste out of my mouth. My worst time is when I'm upset. I nearly go back to chain smoking then and it takes food, drink and vape to get that taste out of my mouth.

My husband and I quit about 3 months ago now. A few weeks ago, we decided to buy a pack, smoke one each and I gave the rest to a homeless man outside the store. We got home and went to the garage and lit up. It was so awful. Husband almost got sick from it. I took a few puffs, but couldn't take it and put it out after only a few drags. I had to shower to get the awful smell off. It was a great learning experience and I will never try one again.

Yeah I went through a bad spot in my early vaping career when I thought I needed an cigarette. Everyone here described it perfectly as an astray. And I know every smoker has tasted ashes before at some point.

All I asked myself is this what my poor wife had to kiss everyday. Damn this must really be love.

Tried a black and mild the other day also. Something I would go to for a little more flavor. Ummmmmm vanilla type astray. Disgusting is all I can say.

I dont talk bad about cigs like some do here because it saved me from some killings, fights, strangled animals (pet groomer) etc...

I had one about 4 days in and it was disgusting. At work when someone lights up and the wind blows my way I can REALLY smell them now. Funny how you never realize how strong the scent is until you quit. Crazy now such a little thing can really screw with your senses. I now feel like I have a brand new nose and tongue, it's wonderful.

I'm with the guys (and gals) who say they don't know how they smoked for all those years. My GF still smokes and I can't stand the smell. And kissing her is pretty bad too. I made her really mad the other day. She kissed me and I said "ugh" afterwards. I thought I was a dead man. "Whatcha mean ugh?" "We'll see if I ever kiss you again." I tried to explain that it was the cigs but she wasn't hearing it. She barely talked to me the rest of the day.
I do the same to my wife although there is an element of:danger:

Wow, surprised to see so many people dislike the smell of cigarette smoke now ... To be honest, I absolutely LOVE the smell of cigarette smoke ... If I walk in my office building and someone's smoking a cigarette outside, I walk real slow, just to smell it ... It's smells delightful ...

THIS!!!
(As long as it's a quick whiff and I'm not standing in it.)

I've had a taster puff on three or four occasions, but haven't actually taken a real drag. The tasting was enough to convince myself that I wasn't missing anything, but I also didn't want to tempt myself with the chest hit (one of the only things I truly miss about smoking).

I have had one cigar since I dropped the analogs. I used to smoke about a half dozen or so a year, and will likely continue to do so as long as I can keep myself from inhaling the smoke instead of puffing on it like I should.

In some ways vaping is still not as satisfying as cigarettes. In others, like walking up stairs without coughing, I realize how much vaping rocks!

Here's to three smoke free(ish) months!
Cheers! :toast:

I've had no desire for a cigarette, more like an anti-desire. I carried one from my roommate's pack to take a size comparison picture and carrying it was completely foreign.

Now pipes are a different story. I have a desire to load up a bowl. I have a fear of the taste sending me back and a lack of desire for ashtray mouth. One of these days I'll load a bowel but not any time soon.
If I don't like it I'm going to have some income selling all my pipes and tobacco.
