Has Bobas taste changed?

It had probably been 2 years since I last had Boba's until yesterday. I ordered 100ml 6mg and received it yesterday. Filled up the tank and it certainly tasted good and full-flavored to me. But, 2 years away from it is long enough that I can't really recall if it tastes exactly the same, but it's at least close to how I remember it. Regardless, it's been a great tasting, all-day vape for me today.

Every time I see a post like yours MikeJA, I think could it just be me? I've ordered three times since it changed on me and lost it's flavor. Every time Nuthin' I gave the B&M guy 10 mils of the good stuff and get tempted every time I visit to get it back because it was the older stuff and tasted fantastic. Yeah / No it ain't me. Glad you like it.

Actually, come to think of it, there is one difference that I noticed right off the bat. Not with the taste, but with the viscosity of the juice.

If memory serves, Boba's used to be a 100% VG juice. When I received the new bottle it was much less viscous than pure VG. I've been vaping 100% VG DIY juice for the last couple of years and Boba's is clearly not 100% VG anymore; something is lowering the viscosity. The label even says "this product may contain PG, etc."

Perhaps that's where the change has come?

I have been buying 30 ml bottles and the occasional 100 ml on and off for a couple of years. My recent bottles, the viscosity is fine, definitely seems like 100% VG to me. That part is good. The flavor still seems off to me from the old days, too much raisin and not enough graham cracker. It used to be my ADV but the flavor just isn't there for me anymore.

The graham cracker in mine is almost non-existant. It has a vinegar like taste too. The first bottle was 30 ml, it was amazing. I bought it at a brick and mortar. Then I bought two 100 ml bottles. I am almost through with the first 100 ml bottle. It did not do a thing for me. I kept thinking it would get better with age, but it never did. I was putting liquid into the 30ml bottle, from the 100 ml bottle too, and just refilling my tank with that. Then a friend gave me a 100 ml bottle full. That bottle has a sweeter smell to it. I am going to vape them in the order I got them though. If they don't get back to the taste of the 30 ml bottle initially, I will not buy another 100 ml bottle, period. I may get a 30 ml after all this is vaped. What a shame. That first 30 ml blew me away it was so good.

Here's a perfect example of the issues people have with this juice.

I can vape boba's for a week and get the typical flavoring I'm used to. If I put it down and vape a different juice, like, Sacre Coeur (or something especially fruity) for a few days, then go right back to boba's, it tastes straight up nasty to me. If I give it a day or two, it goes right back to how it tasted before. It has been this way since I started vaping it. It also tastes different with different atomizers and different levels of heat.

I promise the juice or recipe haven't changed. It's your tastebuds/hardware. Either you like it or you don't. Complaining to AVE that they should change it back isn't going to help. Not trying to be a .... or anything, just trying to explain, it isn't the juice changing, though it seems like it. It's the only juice I've ever vaped that has a flavor profile like that.

Sorry, my wife and I disagree with you andyman97.
I understand. I don't work at the shop and I don't see the juices being mixed, all I can speak to is my own experience and seeing posts from people about the flavor changing over the span of the 4 years I've been vaping boba's. This thread, alone, started back in 2013. If you look back, they go well beyond that. I would find it very hard to believe that the flavors used are changing that frequently. I've experienced flavor changes from the same bottle, myself.

This is a stickler for me, and here's why: We will never change the recipe(flavor) of a e-liquid. If a change occurs we would rather rename the new flavor (since that what it is) then call it by another name. However, that information aside. We will not change the flavor of any recipe. (this leads back to the earlier point)

Keep in mind that more goes into the effect you experience than the e-liquid alone. Voltage, resistance, design of your device, materials used, etc. all play more than a minimal role in the flavor and effect you receive.
This was Ben's original post in this thread. I seriously don't believe that he's just saying this to pacify everyone. Look at when they discontinued Raf. Ben was very forthcoming that the supplier for a certain ingredient was hiking prices to more than he wanted to pay because he didn't want to do the same thing to his customers. He could have changed ingredients and kept the name but he didn't.

Sorry, it's not the same anymore. Very little flavor when it used to be so strong right out of the mailbox. Steeping made it even better. No amount of steeping helps the new stuff. I also have to say I tried it on every device I own and different attie, wicks, wire voltage wattage and every other thing that could possibly be causing it to have weak flavor and nothing helped. Dude! This was my All Day Every Day Vape for years.

I mentioned this once before. If you guys want my opinion on whether the flavor has changed at all, please let me know. I haven't bought Boba's in over a year because I DIY now due to cost issues. I vaped Boba's exclusively for years. I used to buy it by the liter. You'd have to be willing to send me a bottle of it because I haven't had any in a long time. I will, however, be able to tell you instantly my opinion and I like to think I know what it should taste like after vaping liters of the stuff. I hope it's the same. Not trying to mooch free juice, just wanted to offer my honest opinion.

That said, AVE rocks!

Andy the first boba's I got was from you as a sample. I loved it and bought many 100ml bottles after. It does not taste the same at all for me. I will admit I do not have the same devices anymore though.
