MM was never was truly alone here. I believe he knows that and felt that. I think that was a big part of the message that he tried to convey.

It doesn't take a whole gang of us............

I saw no such message - All I saw was a claim to proof that can not be seen by anyone but him (which is the exact opposite of "proof") supported by a lot of failed logic - And an inability to even imagine another perspective for the sake of discussion - I'm not saying that with or without help he was ever going to convert or convince anyone who does not already agree - I just find it odd that the person who started this discussion with their condescending and self-righteous post about non-Christians just up and left - After seeming to have to bite their tongue to avoid demonstrating those types of attitudes even further -

I commend MM on being willing to have this type of conversation both here and in our area of the forum - And for the most part - He does a really great job of not talking it personally (most of the time) - This is something I very seldom see in many of the folks who normally participate in this section who tend to cry out PERSECUTION any time they are challenged in the slightest way - I grow weary of people whose faith is so overwhelmingly represented in the world acting as though they are being persecuted whenever anyone dares to express an opposing view - I give Mightymen BIG PROPS for not acting that way MOST of the time -

Cheers to you MM - I might not agree with your beliefs or your logic - But I do admire your courage and conviction -

    With the utmost respect Surf,

Maybe the fact that said universe is 99.99 (give or take a few decimal points) uninhabitable yet we are in the exact right spot with the exact right atmosphere and exactly right temperature range to not only survive, but to thrive, leads me to believe he does.

That's not a fact at all - We are finding that the FACT is far more likely to be that there is life just about EVERYWHERE in the Universe -
The basic building blocks of dna are found just about everywhere we look - From the atmospheres of planets to the very dust from whence they formed -

To paraphrase Carl Sagan - If we are the only life in the Universe - That would be a tremendous waste of Space -

I really think that those who believe we are the only life in the Universe really do not comprehend the SCOPE of the Universe -

Judas is an interesting paradox (and on topic, I'd like to claim). The Christian consensus is (I believe) that Judas acted of his free will when he betrayed Jesus, but in order for Jesus to sacrifice himself Judas' betrayal was of critical importance. So, was he used by God or did he act of his free will? What was the backup plan if Judas wouldn't have betrayed Jesus? I always found The Last Temptation of Christ interesting in exploring that issue (where Judas is the actual hero who makes the ultimate sacrifice), and Laibach's "Abuse and Confession" is a cool exploration of the consequences for Judas (the unfairness of his eternal punishment).

. . .Through a many dark hour I've been thinkin' about this
That Jesus Christ was betrayed by a kiss
But I can't think for you, you'll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot had God on his side . .

The late Hitchens said thinking the world was created for us would be like a puddle thinking the pothole it lies in to be created perfectly for its shape lol. And it's not even true that earth is made perfectly for our comfort, most of the planet is uninhabitable for humans, out of the 100 or so billion people that have been born half of those have died as children from either childbirth or diseases. Nevermind according to doctrine they went straight to hell for not accepting Jesus as thier saviour. How do u explain the fact that the planet seems to be so hostile toward us if it's made for us? I mean malaria, aids, killer animals, unbearable cold and heat, tornadoes, volcanoes, I mean if you were designing a house would you line the floors with bear traps and set fires in half the rooms and set up gas leaks in the other half? Why create a universe so large and have us on this one speck of dust? Doesn't make any kind of logical sense, it's just bias confirmation.

    That's Douglas Adams - But - Yea -

“This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in — an interesting hole I find myself in — fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.” ~ Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt

It's not that hard to understand, God Loves us ALL and He created us ALL with free will. God will is to have all man kind freely come to Him.

God is perfect in all his ways, The Scriptures say's His OMNIPOTENT.

He is not held by any standard that man can think up. He has virtually unlimited authority or influence. They is no higher in authority than God.

God reveals His will to those who ask from their heart and Trust/believe in Him. I myself want to have my free will aligned with God's will, I Freely do this, I'm in no way forced to do God's will I want to. What you call cake and eat it, I call love, God Loves me that comes from Him and He Trust me enough that His willing to use me. I love God that comes from me, I trust Him in everything and I'm willing to do His will.

Being God is OMNIPOTENT we are ALL obligated to do His will, from Adam and Eve and forever. By not obeying God we all fail to meet our obligation to Him and we Sin against God.

When I do His will He provides more proof to me that He is God, that is OMNIPOTENT and is please that I've obeyed Him, Knowing He is pleased with me is my reward. I can't be good enough that He HAS to accept me, it's not possible. He accepts me for who I am and supplied the sacrifice of Blood, by His only begotten Son Jesus the Christ so I could come to know Him.

And you can't seen the contradiction. You're completely blind to it. You imagine you have free will but describe a determinist philosophy where you have no free will whatsoever. This HUGE and GLARING lack of consistency in your worldview should be a MAJOR red flag to you, mightymen.

If god uses anyone then no one has free will. Pretty simple. Even mightymen agreed until I pointed out the inconsistency in his argument.

    With the utmost respect Surf,

You are engaging in a CLASIC post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy. The fact that we evolved to fit the available niché does NOT mean that it was ideal for us from the outset. It means that life on this rock ADAPTED to existing conditions and that it only looks optimal in hindsight.

Additionally your assertion that this is the only place hospitable to life in the whole of the universe is factually incorrect. Many extrasolar planets have been discovered with perfect conditions for life. It's only a matter of time before we find actual life on many if them. What you're doing by claiming that we're the only life in the whole of the universe is displaying the exact kind of self centered egotism that I was pointing out.

Still not sure why MM is not giving you this answer as it is the standard -

One submits to the will of God and that is the FREE WILL - One willfully submits -

From all that I have been able to gather - That is the limit of FREE WILL -
The only choice we ever get to make is to SUBMIT or be DAMNED -

While I agree that this is not much of a choice at all - That is the choice - THE ONLY CHOICE -

    No you can't
Gonna help you out here - Not sure why you have not given this answer - Your answer should be -

"I used my free will to offer myself to be used as God sees fit - I CHOSE to be a tool of God" - - No?

Simply put, God may see it fitting that I'm CRUXIFIED, even though it could be His will I don't think I'm up to that.

It sound like it should be an easy thing to do just shout out and tell God here I am use me and wait, I'm not that sure of myself that when it comes time to be used by God that I'll being willing, keep in mind I can't give my free will away not even to God though I can submit it to Him.

I see free will as a road made out of bricks/choices, at every intersection I must make a decision and use my free will between God's will and my will, though I want to do God's will doesn't mean I will always do it. There is Scripture that covers this

    Romans Chapter 7

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

This thread is done. I am going to close it and leave it up so that the owners of this website can see your behavior. You ganged up on one poster. MM. You were so pumped to disprove Christianity, you weren't interested in anything we had to say...you just wanted the THRILL of debate. I posted that I am disabled and limited on my abilities to post. Not one of you had the courtesy to acknowledge that. That is not what this board is about. You said you were invited? Go Home. You've worn out your welcome. We are not impressed nor will this behavior be tolerated further. Any future posts will be deleted. As I said, I will be reporting this behavior to the powers that be. Again, any future posts will be deleted. I cannot control you, your mind, or your desire to behave in a manner most uncoming to a human being....but I can control this board.

Matthew 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

    That has been done. Goodbye.
