I always wanted a small mod (that could fit in say a box the size of analogs), that used any manual Ego battery and could house almost any tankclearomizer system:


Everything in there is scaled to 0.5mm or so


This is 3 layer of 1/4" wood sandwiched together (6.35mm per layer, total height of bottom box is 19.05mm or 3/4")

I am sure there are quite a few things that could be made better, so far the only and HUGE problem with it is the positioning of the button on the battery, even setting the connector just right, the button will be at different spot with a different battery. This is one problem I am still trying to figure out.

PS: know that the goal of this was do to as little modification and use standards parts, the button on the battery is a big problem so any suggestion is welcome but remember that it needs to be as simplistic as possible. Also the base on this example has been customized to the Vivi nova 3.5ml and 14mm standard ego battery so it can lay on it's side or standing up very nicely

It has been done by a Russian company (same that makes the kayfun rba). There are two versions, one for ego sized batteries with an ego threaded connector and one that is for, what I believe, is their own hybrid

Theirs looks nice, sadly you can only use a at most clearomizers, which would be good too, do you know if any US website have any of those ?

I see they have an all metal build which looks really nice and durable.

I am wondering how they fixed the "battery button at weird spot" ?
1. they didn't ?
2. the 510 connector to the battery can rotate ?

I'm am impressed by your illustration and the thought you've put into it. Vaping seems to draw pretty cool tinkerers and engineer-types.

But, I'm confused. Why? Since you're using an eGo battery already, and a compatible clearomizer, why not just screw the clearomizer into the battery as intended -- what do you gain by making it look like a box?

To make it

* Compact while still be able to use a tank
* Less pressure in pocket on smaller wide setup than long setup.
* Able to secure it in a box no bigger than an analog pack (we all have those pockets that fits them).
* Stealth: can hold the whole thing in my hand while still using a tank and ok size battery
* I like that form factor

I know you can go just as small or smaller using say 18350's but I want to stay away from those and just use standards battery. The whole setup would right now fit in that box the Vivi nova tank comes in + an additional battery

Use the screw to tighten the eGo when you get it where you want it?

I had this idea also, haven't put as much thought into it yet as im new and am still trying to figure out what I'm really looking for .but I like the idea of the box type because of carrying a pack in my shirt pocket so long it just feels normal.
I also had the thought of due to the battery and tank being smaller than a normal pack I could also have some spare juice and or spare carto in the mod. I've started putting the parts together to make it of the things I know I want to stay with ..so far its a box with the 510 connector....lol

These cases are decent'y built plastic, you'd have to cut out the center divider, but that wouldn't be hard, and they are cheap enough. GIZEH Cigarette Flip Case
Punch a hole in the side of it and make a switch to reach in and hit the EGO switch to fire it?
I'm not trying to discourage you, but I think it would be a lot simpler to make if you used either 18350 or 18500 batteries. They have more power, are easier to carry and charge. I also think it would be easier to make a switching system to go on top of the mod when you open the lid, rather than having to rig a switch to hit the EGO switch. Just my opinion and trying to help keep the build easier.

If I understand correctly, you want to use the airflow controller because it has ego threading and allows to use a nut/bolt system to get the positive from the battery, having that nut/bolt system then allows you to loosen it, place switch in the right spot then tighten it back?

I like that idea, however (don't get me wrong it's a step in the right direction and farther than I have gotten) this requires a small screwdriver each time a new battery is inserted.

Going with the same principle, there could be a spring system: push down, rotate batt, let spring back up. The spring I think would go between the nut (Wayt at the bottom) and the next one.

do you have a higher res of that image by chance, having problem seeing everything.

PS: after thinking on the spring system, that would make it hard to screw in the battery completely because the whole thing would turn. errrrrr

Small, cheap and uses an 18350 battery.Buy an extension and you can run a tank on it, get the long carto's and it's stealth. I almost bought one just because of the size.

As for small, here is a Gripper compared to two of mine, please disregard the ridiculously long atty, it is about the body for 18350's:

coersum......"this requires a small screwdriver"....do you have one of those"helping hands' for soldering? look at the thumb screws.....these are too small for what you want, but you can look at Lowes-Home depot...in the hardware department for bigger ones that you could mod....Are cut a big a nuff slot in the screw head to use a coin?...

The spring idea might work....don't know...you don't have much room in 3/4"....

I understand you don't want to go that route, and I respect that, just was throwing out some of my thoughts on it, not trying to change your plan. Sorry if I came across wrong.
