Have you converted anyone into a vaper?

I personally started vaping back in early April '14 merely as a hobby. I smoked cigarettes here and there, and went through a little less than a pack a month. I never really craved them or had an overpowering urge to smoke, and figured maybe vaping would be healthier. I am a self proclaimed tinkerer, so naturally vaping was right up my alley. Since I started I have gotten the following people to either quit smoking and start vaping, or just start vaping.

My girlfriend- before she met me, she was completely against smoking of any sort. Even after countless times of me explaining to her that vaping was far less harmful than smoking, she remained stubborn. She didn't mind if I did it, she just wanted no part of it herself. Suddenly on one drunken night as I was puffing away, she yanked my vape from my hands and to my surprise took a huge rip of a 12mg nic juice that I had like a champ. Didn't even cough, as most people who have never smoked anything would. "Hey!," she said, "This is pretty cool!" She now has her own cheapo vape with a few clearos that she loves.

My dad's girlfriend- a pack a day smoker, who, out of curiosity tried my vape one day and was enamored with it. She has not smoked a single cig since and vapes only 0mg nic juices.

My brother- 1/2 pack a day smoker. He was constantly asking to use my vape, which as we all know is annoying. I got him a cheap VV vape for his birthday and he hasn't smoked a cig since.

So that's it for me, just 3 people. However, I am glad I could help people that I care about get off the cancer sticks. It may be hypocritical of me to say they are disgusting since I used to smoke them, but they are. I haven't even thought about lighting one up since I purchased my beloved vape(s).

I teach at a university so I've had the opportunity to explain vaping to a number of students, many of whom have dropped smoking and started vaping--and this last year I've seen that it's more acceptable on campus.

I've gotten some other folks to switch and in some cases I've done so by handing off my old equipment (just gave away my beloved SVD this weekend) and unwanted juices to friends who are curious or even helping them order equipment and juice online.

My friend Jen who somehow quit completely using cig-a-likes alone after a two-pack a day habit. She encouraged me to them and somehow (after a day of lurking on ECF, along with a couple GrimmGreen and RubyRoo videos) I am analog free ever since I found the eGOs and T3S's. I have now converted my other friend and her husband to make the transition! It's great hearing how all of you have made such a positive impact on friends and family.

I converted 5 guys a few times each... It seems that they want to be converter every month or so. they break their stuff and go back, when their clearos need to change coils they go back. and the day that I see them they suddenly want to come back into the vaping world, so I fix their stuff and again a few more weeks of vaping

I've been able to start two people on vaping - my wife's best friend and one other. One of them got my SVD, Aerotank, 2 18650 batteries, a charger, and a box of coils; the other got my MVP, two glass Evods, an Aerotank Mega, a box of coils, and 2 bottles of juice.

Good use for what I'm no longer using, and moderately beginner friendly - especially since the vape shop I took them to is very helpful.

I've lost count......... and working on my latest convert right now. ;) I have about 50/50 success so far. You can lead a horse to water....

.....I've noticed the ones who stick with it are people who really do want to quit smoking. The desire has to be there 100% IMHO because smoking is just too easy. There is some effort, fiddling, and a learning curve to vaping, nothing earthshattering but still .......

The ones who didn't stick w/it had a lot of excuses ...... and that is fine, I don't push, I just offer. When they are ready maybe they will try again

4 of my co-workers are now vapers because they liked my mod! A couple still smoke cigs but the other 2 completely switched to vaping.

I gotta thank my boss for giving me ammo to talk smack on his ecigs for the good first 6 months of employment with him. Luckily he is a great guy and a jokester and can take a joke and dish em out.

I am grateful for the day I got curious and asked him where to go and what to buy when it came to e-cigs. Can thank him for making me a convert.

Now he makes fun of me because of my progression to mech mods from battery/tank setups while he kept it simple and went with a Kayfun/Hana setup.
