I always like smoking started when I was 13 and just thought I'd smoke forever but really started not enjoying it when I thought about what my lungs must look like , starting vapeing and now I don't feel guilty about my habit . The first time in my life to have my cake and eat it to, so I am a vapor 4 life and enjoying it .

I smoked for ten years and have been vaping for 7 months now. I loved smoking, but I love vaping more! I've read that some say nicotine is similar to caffeine-a litle controversial, but the more studies that are done on both, scientists are finding out that they're not that bad for most people and may actually be good for you! I'm tending to believe those studies! (Coffee has antioxidants and nicotine can help with memory problems for examples)

I smoked for 38 years, when I started vaping, the intention was to use it as a tool to quit smoking and then lower my nic etc...well, I've been smoke free for a year, but haven't lowered my nic level. At this point, I'm so happy to be cig free that I'm not worried about reducing the nicotine level. I don't smell, my house doesn't smell, I can vape in my office and basically anywhere I want and I feel great. As far as I can see, I've got the best of both worlds, so I think I'm a v4lifer.

So remind me to tell you about my clove excursion so far!

Reminder: Tell me about your clove excursion! haha

The only Clove flavor I've tried is from Vapor4Life. It's not really cutting it but I'm waiting to give the final verdict until I get my new PVs. I'm hoping a higher voltage\watts will bring out the flavor more.

That being said... I was so disappointed with the Clove eliquid lacking the Djarum\Kretek feel I decided to branch out into other flavors. I ordered a couple different coffee flavors and more the popular stuff from CopperCreek.

I've done some googling and haven't found any Clove flavor that consistently gets good reviews from previous Djarum Special smokers.

I have a massive bottle of that flavor you speak of. Unfortunately I got it without nic so not enough throat hit, and it does not hold up to heat well. If you get a brand new coolcart, with a freshly charged v4l manual, the first hour is shear bliss. I got it sweetened and as you vape the tiniest little bit will hit your lips and sweeten the vape like a clove. It also numbs your mouth like a Djarum. Is it perfect, no. It gets really close though. I find that mixing it a little with v4l vanilla, and various other flavors from v4l actually gets it closer to some of the Djarum flavored cloves that they had like the gold and cherries. Last but not least it is a cartomizer destroyer. Set aside 5 carts just for that juice.

I really don't know. In theory, sure I love vaping and I'd love to do it forever. But what is the future of it? I just see the government taking it away from us. It isn't something anyone wants to think about, I know.
Sorry to be a downer.

Eh, we'd find a way! If they do try to take it away, I'll still do it!

For me the first couple of months I could only think about how thrilled I was that I could actually quit smokeing and not become a raving lunatic. After 2 months I started to reduce my nic very very slowly and by month 6 I was nic free. I am almost 1 year now and would like(and I stress like) to quit vapeing altogether but I fear failure. For many years I thought I was only addicted to the nicotine, boy was I wrong. My real addiction is to the hand to mouth motion. Will see what happens this year....who knows...it may just happen on its own.

I don't plan to vape forever, I hope to get down to 0 nic at some point this year. My "exit strategy" is very loose. I don't have a set schedule or date. Maybe in a year I will have quit vaping. But I will hold on to some vaping supplies and juice just in case, instead of getting rid of everything. I have been slowly cutting down nic but that is just happening naturally, somehow.

My idea in the beg. was just to get off analogs .But I enjoy vaping and not sure the addict in me will let go of vaping .
I cut my nic from 24mg to 18mg and that part was fairly easy compared to cig withdrawals. If I can ,i will cut it again to 11mg but i know i am not ready yet .Work some 11 mg in occasionally .We'll see .
Just really happy to be off my pk to 1 1/2 day habit :)

I had a 6 month plan to get off e-cigs (I quit cigs right away after 37 years of smoking), that was a long time ago! I found I loved V4L's products and just never quit. I vape anything between o nic to 11 mg's so I have never had to worry about reducing the nic. I can also go all day without vaping..in some cases days. But vaping is my relaxation at night and it helps to keep me from snacking. I know I don't need it any more, but it sure helps cancel out Mike's smelly cigs in the car!
If worse came to worse and I couldn't vape I would miss it but I would be ok..that's a great thing to know. Thanks V4L and you guys.

I loved smoking and tried many ways to quit (for health reasons). I never actually wanted to stop the act of smoking. When I decided to try v4l it was in hope that it would be a good alternative to smoking, but not to quit. I loved it from the first vape and still do. I belive part of the success was not putting any presure of trying to quit. To this day I have not thought that I should quit vaping, I just continue to be greatfull that I dont want to smoke or even crave in anymore.

Heck, I don't know! No exit strategy here. I didn't have an entrance strategy to start with. Just stumbled upon vaping & ended up quitting my 40+ year addiction to analogs. I initially bought a couple's kit for my DH & I because we wouldn't smoke in our daughter's house & couldn't smoke while we were out somewhere. We got out kit, ran out of analogs, and neither of us wanted to go to the store. So it was an "accidental quit". And I'm loving every minute of vaping. I enjoy the taste, I enjoy having something in my hand, I enjoy the messing around & filling my cartos, I enjoy the hunt for a new flavor, & now I am going to start enjoying DIYing in a few days (just placed my first order). I also really enjoy ECF & the people here. So why think about quitting?

Oops, I think I'm addicted to vaping :vapor:

Awesome Newwell, the hardware, juice combo is doing it for me. Not sure I could DIY my juices though. Especially after the banana juice video.
@MK thats awesome that you have completely learned to control it. I too can go days without it as I dont ever let my kids see me do it but I can get grumpy during the edgy times without it.

@waylonjessi4ever w00t sounds like you are making some awesome progress nonetheless with the nic coming down.

I found this interesting because that seems to be the mindset of non-smokers/non-vapers that see this as a stepping stone. I enjoyed smoking but not the persistant cough and health issues. I think for me it is the ritual in addition to the nicotine addiction.... the ritual being the stronger. While I may consider cutting down my nic level I enjoy this so much I don't see myself giving it up entirely. During one of my attempts to quit analogs I tried walking around with celery sticks or carrot sticks in my mouth but that just looked weird and you can't really toke them. I totally enjoy vaping as do my adult kids that switched with me. I don't see myself giving that up.

I don't know how I would feel after the hokey pokey.... have to wait for someone to have another birthday party at the roller rink to experience that but I do think I would want to vape after the chicken dance. Will report on that after I attend a wedding.

I have to agree, so many times now I have gotten the, "Oh trying to quit smoking huh, well good for you!" and I want to say, "no I quit smoking I am a vaper now." I try and explain that to people and they tell me, "oh great so you substituted a horrible habit with something that is better for you but still not good." On the flipside I would hate to see someone who has never smoked become a vaper. So their point of view is valid to me in some ways. Interesting regardless.

SIC0 sir you know there are many benefits to nicotine? Quite a few studies show how it helps prevents certain horrible diseases of the brain, helps with mood, list goes on.... Just saying. :)

I totally agree with you Morandir sir. I just understand where they are coming from in the sense that many people associate nicotine, with tobacco/smoking and with that association comes an unwarranted derogatory view of vaping. Regarding my flipside comment, this pertains to addiction. I have always been of the mindset that most (edit) if not all of us have addictive personalities, it's just finding what it is that our mind/body craves. There are those that find addiction in good things and those of us that find addiction in bad things, but there are those of that turn the addiction of a good thing into a bad thing. For that reason I would not want to point someone without dependencies to a habit that has many.
